Does anyone have any recommendations for a better, more economically reasonable printing service than Zazzle? The sheer cost of it is prohibitively expensive, and makes it tough to imagine small businesses or artists being able to afford using their service.

Pandora spent much more effort attempting to get me to sign-up (and re-sign-up) than they ever did trying to retain me.

The customer service experience was harrowing, featured slow response times, an indifferent attitude to my issues and a wholly inadequate resolution leading me to quit the service.

Every so often I would see news coverage about them struggling and all I could think was, "guess things on the customer service side haven't changed."

Just be ready for them to hike your rate without any type of alert after the initial period expires. This applies even to gifted subscriptions like the one I was given for Christmas. The customer service was...unsympathetic.

Could be more relevant in Colorado and Washington. Just kidding.

Not to mention you need an account with them in the first place and Braintree is well known for having a ludicrously strict risk team.

So yes, this is just a marketing gimmick.

What someone should do is create a site where you can email your resume/letter in and have it attractively handwritten on nice letterhead.

Comparing Nanotech, Education, and future IT to other revolutionary technologies is interesting but nothing radically new. It can be especially difficult to direct money to these new frontiers when the infrastructure of yesterday is becoming increasingly potholed.

Forward into uncertainty as a means of raising our ceiling? Or stand our ground and try to raise the floor?

I recall reading that the same kind of thing used to happen with standing field armies, (think Napoleon sized blocks) where you could almost instantly assess an opponents forces based on simply recognizing divisions, regiments, etc.

My guess is Napoleon-era field marshals did a cost-benefit analysis and decided that managing their forces simplistically (i.e. no irregular sized units) outweighed whatever inconvenience enemy intelligence posed.

Relating this to the OP my guess is the Germans made a mistake and overlooked the serial numbers, rather than simply not caring.

Your work looks great, I'd love to have you help me out. I don't mind seeing these types of posts on HN, as long as they have the skill to back them up.

If you love sports in general you might be out of luck. I love baseball in particular hand have no problem paying the 100 bucks for MLB.tv to watch any (and every) game that I choose, often in high-def, on whatever device I want.

I'm not certain about the other sports, but for baseball there is no real reason to be tied to cable.

I too feel your pain, and any feedback you have would obviously be incredibly worthwhile - especially if you want to help solve this specific problem.

This strikes me as something that could be revolutionary. Specifically, it stirs up memories of sci-fi novels and movies where advanced races have given up sex and sexual reproduction because it's "Too messy."

The article was good, but the personal life stuff was a waste of time.

Pretty cool site, unfortunately there were some strange side effects from searching.

a. 20% was injected between my words

b. I searched for "Income of women in India" and got the wikipedia entry for the United States.

I like being able to decide which search I want to look at however - very cool.

Looks decent, though obviously it puts the onus on whoever is doing the score-keeping to get notes and stats the the coach who would then put them up there.

What would be incredibly cool is if you created player accounts (for free) where they could sign in, look at their schedule and their stats.

Then the players who want accounts/stats would jump all over their coach to make sure he signed up.

The league view could use a redesign but overall I'd say this was a beyond decent app. Way to go!

The way I see it we've got barter: Something you want for something I want.

And we've got symbolic: Something that represents what we both want (Currency, rewards points, gift cards).

Even those giant stone wheels were a form of currency. What gets weirder than stone coins? Plasma pennies?

I'm on the investor side of the table in that I have money and would be happy to invest in a worthy start-up. I'm young and fairly inexperienced, but I don't mind being pitched, and I would be happy to share my email address with interested parties.

I think nothing could be more valuable than making funding more accessible to companies that could one day change the world; especially if it could be done well. Maybe we should get to work on this idea...partner. :)
