I agree with most of the points here. I think Meta is missing the point with their uncanny valley avatars and focus on business applications. Personal connection like events and fitness training is key. These applications don’t rely on high definition. MR fitness is going to skyrocket this year and next year with color pass through. Checkout Liteboxer and how they are using chroma keyed trainers to make it feel like they are in your home. The quest pro is better balanced and touches your face less too.

I make things that make things.
This is similar to the new trend of gamified workouts. Liteboxer recently announced rhythm-based boxing workouts on the Quest store. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tomsguide.com/amp/news/i-ju...
Reminds me of the book “We are legion (We are Bob)”.
For sure. We love discord. Less distractions and great integrations for developers.
I had my own ebike startup 2 years ago (Lectro). What killed it was the fact that large lithium battery packs were classified with hazmat status. This classification might have been spurred by the exploding hoverboards. Product shipping and liability became too high for profits. I would assume big box retailers have similar concerns. If the BMS in the battery had an issue, It was very difficult for the customer to ship back.
Making your own galvos is a huge feat. High quality ones used for laser cutting or etching can cost up to $2k each. I'm guessing they must have needed to hire someone with a background in this area.
I tried this recently... it works well except with the mobile integration. I then purchased a TonidoPlug and things seemed to go much more smoothly.
