I've just added Workflows, giving you the ability to automatically build entire Workflows using contexts you've installed

e.g., in your local runtime, like Claude or ChatGPT, you can type `use pv workflow new-feature` which is a more powerful, tailored way of typing `use pv product-manager+designer+engineer+qa-engineer+gtm-strategist`

Yeah, I touched on the lifestyle here being good, I completely relate - I just think it creates a conundrum.

Given this reality, we'll continue to be safe/slow followers to the rest of the world. Which is sad given this statistic! It is a huge wasted opportunity where we could be leaders in ideation, creations, thoughts, inventions etc.

I don't want life to change, but in the bigger picture, I don't want us to fall behind in the pack.

Do you know what is a real shame? This statistic doesn't really correlate with the highest quality output.

Most of them who stay put in Australia never really get to put their skills to good use. Our digital landscape is quite conservative & somewhat arguably boring, consisting of mainly traditional finance/banking & insurance - and we all know how these companies work internally (digital as a cost centre).

Don't get me wrong, there are a few startups floating around who are growing up e.g., Canva, Campaign Monitor, Atlassian (for which I'd argue is a US company), but even the bigger ones only hire a couple of thousand on-shore devs a piece. Most of the good devs with half an inkling go overseas when they finish Uni to earn good coin and work on far more shaping stuff.

I think we are risk-averse in Australia due to life being pretty good on average here (so what's the point?), which is fine, but more jarringly; the Government do very little to assist or incentivise entrepreneurs. I wish they did more, we'd see way more talent remain here and plenty of more ideas come to life!

On a related note, I would even prefer working 4 days for 10 hours to make this quota if absolutely necessary, and though I am not particularly supportive of said work hours per week, I do obey the system. I understand that there may have some W/OHS related issues with this of course.

I wonder what sort of impacts these things would have on things of a grander scale, such as the economy, transport, employment rates, inflation etc. I refer to either lowering the hours & pay per employee per week (as discussed in other comments) or overlapping shifts such as half the employees work 38 hrs Mon>Thu and the other half working 38 hrs Tue>Fri (rough schedule of course).

Have there been any remotely similar studies on this?

I don't think everyone appreciates infinite scrolling, perhaps showing more profiles per paginate would be better (or give the user a choice between the two, or how many per page).

Do they know that their logo very closely resembles Australia's largest investment banks? http://macquarie.com.au/

I know this oversight can happen and it sucks, but the two are in the same industry (Macquraie has a global presence and quite a substantial US one), so it might come under some sort of copyright infringement. Just a heads up!

This is brilliant mate, will test it out now for a few weeks in Sydney. I thought of the same idea after I noticed not so much of a gap in the pickup-game space, but just no real implementations that had been executed as good as they should be. From the screenshots, this looks like the one to do it!

One small thing, had some issues with the register screen returning me to login screen after I pressed the register button (I know it's in beta, just pointing it out :) )

last.fm is great for this. Type in an artist/genre you like and for the next few hours while you work, you will discover plenty of new ones as their radio service works by molding a 'radio service' to your taste.

The 'G' sound in the word 'G-raphics' (GIF = Graphics Interchange Format) makes more sense to carry over to the acronym. I think the boats understandably sailed Mr.White!

Everyone around the world was saying 'Yahoo' a fortnight ago for the first time in a long time because of this purchase of summly and coincidentally, Yahoo also quietly became the default search in Safari for iPhones during March. I like to think this is all great marketing and survival positioning by Yahoo as the big 3 companies/partnerships (read on) rear up for an exciting next few years in technology.

Why would Apple change the default search? Well Apple and Google are the main rivals in the mobile market, it makes sense for both Apple to choose an alternative default search engine, as they don't want to strengthen their main rival. I also think Apple's recent 'interest' in robotics (Siri, hiring ex-segway engineer) v.s. Google's robotic cars & Glass, this will be another front that Apple will have to fight Google on.

"1 Billion People Will Use Mobile As Primary Internet Access Point In 2012" http://googlemobileads.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/consumers-lov...

That leaves them with two options, the first being Bing. No way in hell would they choose Microsoft to partner with, with MS' purchase of Skype and close ties with FB you can expect MS to push harder than ever in the Mobile space, over the next few years (assuming they can tie all of their products together neatly).

So that really only leaves Yahoo for search, which works out well for both companies; Yahoo get to survive the battle of the big 3 and still appear somewhat relevant and Apple are no longer strengthening their main rival. I really have no idea what I'm talking about but it sounds interesting.

tl;dr - purchase of summly was marketing and survival by Yahoo

Heads up, opening a Gist to edit/view from my list in a new tab (CTRL + clicking) doesn't work in Chrome 21.0.1180.75. The Stylesheet doesn't seem to load, not sure if this is an individual issue on my system.

I've bought a few domains (nothing special) for general ideas but I haven't had the time to polish off anything to do with them disappointed in self. Hopefully one day soon I can also Show HN, but for now, they can sit dormant while I appreciate others!
