I imagined it to be similar to how some "blue collar" professions attract mostly men who openly discuss women in sexual ways with each other while at work and will cat-call a pretty woman walking by.

Bro if you're trying to count those responses by class you can't use those same responses to put them into the bins in the first place, and reproducing a classist stereotype for no reason doesn't make the point any more valid.

I told her that she was a really inspiring person, and that I would keep her in my life indefinitely whether or not we ended up together

Whats wrong with men

There are some interesting points in there, but the author sounds like a bit of a narcissistic jerk.

In many contexts, the way to get good feedback is to give people a way to provide it anonymously. Anything else creates friction by layering on social dynamics. To get honest feedback, you want to make it as comfortable as possible for people to give it. You also want to make it easy to find -- I have a link to my feedback form in my Twitter bio, and get a few comments a week through it.

I imagine resistance from some people on the grounds that anonymity frees people to be assholes, but in my experience they rarely are. 90% of what I get in my inbox is either nonsense or nice -- I get lots of “keep up the good work!” type messages

So 10% are assholes, and the rest are "nonsense" or nice - does she get any actual criticism in her "feedback inbox" (kind of a strange concept in my opinion in itself)?

Also, all of the accomplishments she bragged about in the intro are from business. Impressive as they may be, it seems a bit narrow minded to be only focusing on that part of life when recounting what you are most proud of.

Broke: Reading books or attending classes on philosophy and cognitive science to learn from hundreds of years of combined research from the world's greatest minds.

Woke: Pulling up a new theory of intelligence and for why everyone else is too damn stupid for "fourth order thinking" out of thin air, talking to it about an LLM and deeming it so important it has to be shared with an online community.

I don’t think I’m overselling myself too much to expect that I could argue circles around the average uneducated person. Like I mean that on most topics, I could demolish their position and make them look like an idiot. Reduce them to some form of “Look, everything you say fits together and I can’t explain why you’re wrong, I just know you are!” Or, more plausibly, “Shut up I don’t want to talk about this!”

And there are people who can argue circles around me. Maybe not on every topic, but on topics where they are experts and have spent their whole lives honing their arguments.

He is admitting he might lose an argument against experts with decades worth of experience in their topic (most humble rationalist.)

There have been scientific breakthroughs throughout human history and none of them "liberated" humanity in regards to sickness, poverty, energy, travel, entertainment. Why should this one now be different? There will always be sickness and poverty in a capitalist system that is built on the exploitation of others to sustain itself. During capitalism, medical ånd technological advances such breakthroughs might bring will always disproportionately benefit the rich. Sickness, poverty at least could already be "solved problems", as some people I think say, if not for class injustice in a system that depends on inequality to function.

"Despite GamerGate’s positive changes on the industry, it has been met with heavy criticism from the journalists and publications under fire and their supporters, as well as third-wave feminists involved who have attributed the harsh criticism towards female offenders to misogyny and sexism."

That summary seems a bit tendencious!

I agree with your general point but Hungary is probably the worst example you could have chosen from any EU country! The Orbán government is famously using it to spread propaganda and fake information in unprecedented levels.

The level of control governments exert on public broadcasting networks is widely different. Since Meloni, the RAI in Italy is facing similar issues, but Hungary is still the canonic example of government misinformation and propaganda.

No, he does not seem surprised as he had his mind made up about an important life decision and a carefully crafted resignation letter ready in a matter of hours.

Buying drugs from shady people online like on Telegram channels is a good way to get you not high or killed. Apparently they're selling HHC now that looks like bud? No thanks. I'll stick to my local guy straight from behind the bushes next to the park.

Signal already has a very hard time competing against the network effects of WhatsApp and Telegram and getting people on the app, a fee would only increase that. But making it n$/year but with the option for an account withiot a phone number like other people are suggesting sounds nice, peace

I didn't mean to sound so negative, it's still interesting, it was just a chore as a teenager/early twenties college student.

LOL, when you scroll down and on the left, is that Jesus texting with the girls on the right or is it just a collage of users?
