Thanks for all the suggestions. To be more specific, my situation is that I'll be making $x this summer, in addition to making $y/month and spending $z/month. I need to visualize these data to determine whether I can afford to make that $x/k expense (i.e: expense that represents a part of x that is less than x) and still have a margin m, where m is defined as financial "safety". Sorry if it's confusing, but I hope it makes sense.

As smartician suggested, Mint is great to get an overview of one's finance, but it doesn't let me visualize the above amounts.

As ragatskynet suggested, spreadsheets are the most obvious choice, and the fact that I can "complicate them to the level [I] want" should allow me to plot the above amounts as I need, but I was trying to find a more elegant way to do this than using excel.

I will be looking into the other suggestions. stevekemp's seems to be just what I need.

I got the Fitbit One. You have to manually tell it you're about to sleep and you just woke up, then it tells you how long you stayed in bed, how many times you woke up, and how much deep sleep you had.

Based on that, I averaged that I needed 8 hours of in-bed time to get 7 hours of deep sleep, and then I had no need for the device anymore. Until my sleep patterns change.

I have the exact same config, without urxvt. Awesome is great. Really lightweight and fast, like Arch, actually.

Interesting post. I decided to use Django for our startup because Python was a requirement, we're planning to have a lot of customers, and Django seems like the most appropriate choice for large scale apps. While I've mostly used non-rel databases, I'll be using postgresql as a database, because it seems to be highly compatible with Django, because Heroku makes scaling it easy, and because it's a good occasion to learn some RDBMS.

I've seen so many posts about interview rants, including one I wrote myself, that I feel like the problem lies in the higher demand than supply of positions, and that interviews, not matter what bad feedback they seem to give, aren't that poorly designed.
