Off topic but how are you using Bazel with Nix? Specifically with regards to Bazel's cache. It doesn't seem like that would work well with Nix.

This is not correct. The main infotainment system is not considered safety critical. There are some functions such as rear view camera that are but often this is handled by a real time os that overlays the video on top of the infotainment output. The infotainment system crashing will not take down your steering or braking.

Probably any lens and any modern camera can achieve this quality and look. The soft background is achieved by using a lower f-stop. In this example the background isn't really too blurry though so you shouldn't need anything special.

You'll need to spend more time on lighting than anything else to reproduce the overall feel.

You can get motorized dampers that you install where the branches come off the main trunk.

My understanding is it's not great to shut down vents all the way since it increases the static pressure in the branch and the air is just going to try to find ways out. You also have to be careful with closing down too many registers as it can cause too much pressure on the furnace. Some furnaces will shut down in this case.

I deployed it on November 6, 2021, the same day that Stripe stopped billing a significant number of my customers, left all their invoices in a Draft state, and didn’t tell me about it.

So at least a significantly large portion are outside of Canada.

He touches on that in the paragraph

I'm not saying that writing is the best way to explore all ideas. If you have ideas about architecture, presumably the best way to explore them is to build actual buildings. What I'm saying is that however much you learn from exploring ideas in other ways, you'll still learn new things from writing about them.

If you don't allow for scope creep you won't get any contracts. What I've seen in the industry is most companies will under bid hoping to make it up in change request fees. The successful companies are the ones who manage the OEM such that they keep them happy while maximizing change requests. It's a fine line to walk.

The annoying one for me is the trunk ajar warning that doesn't time out. That means listening to a constant beep the entire way home from the hardware store when I have something that doesn't fit completely in the car.

What I Worked On 5 years ago

If you can choose what to work on, and you choose a project that's not the best one (or at least a good one) for you, then it's getting in the way of another project that is.

I get that this is true but for me personally I feel it's what holds me back the most in life. I rarely finish projects, not because I get bored with them but because I always think some other project would be a better use of my time.
