I don't know how old your kids are and if they play video games with friends, so maybe they're too young for this to begin with.

Do you give them some kind of additional time budget that they can manage themselves over a longer period? There are things that you can do on a screen that just take more time than one hour at once, especially when you're playing with friends (or even learning something by programming etc.).

Most screens have distractions just one tap away.

Personally I also like the physics of a book a lot more for reading. Every book is a physically different object. You physically turn the page. You can physically see how far you are in the book. It's just all much less abstract and tangible.

I started reading it and found it to reek of AI slop. I couldn't figure out what I'm even reading about and found the text to be unstructured or mis-structured. It also seems to contain a lot of formatting mistakes making me believe that you didn't even care to proofread it.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I have no tolerance for AI a slop. ShowHN is for showing something you built with a lot of care, that people can try out. That can be an AI product. But it cannot be an AI slopped text post pitching your product.

The models are designed to be these fake positive corpospeak yes man assholes by fake positive asshole corporations.

Mirroring real human text is only the basis of training. Afterwards they get aligned a.k.a. lobotomized.

Sorry for your loss.

"This is it... this is where I belong..." I know everyone here... even if I've never met them, never talked to them, may never hear from them again... I know you all...

after all, we're all alike.

If ISPs would try charging per device with IPv6, NAT66 routers would just become an off the shelf product. You can just sell a black box to people that solves the issue.

But more generally, I think times have changed enough for per device billing not being a viable approach anymore.

People being allowed to part ways and not having to stick with their partner until death is one of the great achievements of feminism. It goes both ways.

You cannot control that you will love someone forever, so you cannot promise that. What you can promise someone is that you plan on spending the rest of your life with them and that you have so much love that you trust it will last forever. Sometimes that does not work out. That is no one's fault and no one owes to anyone to stay together with a person they no longer love.

Two possible reasons:

1. Attention.

2. You a have a public image that includes you being married and social media is one of the main channels over which you reach the people who know you. Now you get divorced and you do not want these people to have the false image of you being happily married and potentially even getting comments referencing your marriage anymore.

I share my pain publicly as a gesture of solidarity with other people, but especially women, who have been profoundly traumatized by those they thought they could love and trust.

This is about her husband divorcing her. I find this to be a very unfair way to frame someone else's decision to not spend their life with you anymore. Your partner does not owe you a relationship. Interestingly it is not even me coming up with the word "framing". She herself describes her Instagram post as deliberate framing.

She also claims that the AI chose words dismissive of her pain because she is a woman (rather than just because it's fake-positive corpo slop) and does not substantiate that in any way.

I'm all against this AI slop BS, especially when it's impersonating people. The blog post is mostly not about that.

Again, I'm old enough to remember when e.g. the ISPs were going to try to charge per device in each household.

I don't really see that coming again and if it does you can just do NAT66 just like you can do NAT4.
