I agree with you on the numbers game here, but what it provides quickly is validation.

Many founders build products and features in vacuum, not knowing whether they are relevant to any kind of customers.

This growth model is not a long-term strategy, but a form of letting people vote with their wallets to build a foundation to further improve from.

This first acquisition was done pretty quickly.

In fact, I probably looked at 2 dozen of businesses until this one stood out. the founder and I got along super well which made the acquisition process a breeze.

The consequence of that is interviewing users in B2B is almost useless, and taking decisions from what users tell you is a severe error and in most cases the path to stagnation.

Who would come up with such a nonsense? Regardless of B2C or B2B, knowing what your users need solved is crucial, irrelevant who eventually the buyer is (user vs Manager)
