In some areas, density is appropriate, and in some areas it's not.
Indeed, the way we have effectively banned density everywhere is wildly inappropriate. Cities should allow dense development. That is, after all, the whole idea of cities: attain the benefits of agglomeration. Cities rejecting anything other than detached single family houses in most of their footprints is contradictory to their purpose.

Amazingly, they managed to _undersell_ the ill effects that the oil industry would have on even just the US, such as the oil-driven military actions we've taken over the years.
The "coastal elites" they resent are made up by conservative media. No behavior changes by the yuppies can affect the ever-increasing resentment people feel in response to this sneering bully, because the bully is made up and the tendency of RW media to use ever-more-dire portrayals of supposed societal ills.
As an aside, I think the culture which produces this result is related to people in the US always thinking crime is increasing, regardless of actual crime trends.
Deploying thousands more gas turbines in a short time is impossible. Lead times for gas turbines are already multiple years.

Market efficiency as most people in the US mean requires the presence of things like roads in decent condition and regulation of RF spectrum use. Both of those are funded via taxes. Reasonable tax rates and uses of tax revenue are required for most non-trivial-sized markets to function efficiently.
One of the problems is that rather than billionaires being it for money, they’re in it for money. They don’t lack for money to live, sure, but they do want more money for the power it provides.
I agree but I also think this end up a case of "worse is better". Sure it sucks that doing things with AI is slower and more prone to issues, but now you can be more lazy and still mostly accomplish the same things.
I don't expect to go for that, but other people might. Especially if AI stuff continues to improve.
Apple's market cap would have dropped by 30-50% if they had signed CUDA drivers? How would that have played out?

There are plenty of long, straight, flat roads around town here, where riding at 28mph would be perfectly safe. People driving feel free to go 30+mph, after all. My e-bike's assist only goes up to 20mph, which I can sustain even without assist on many of those roads. I'd guess 25mph would be about as fast as I could go with assist while still feeling safe on a bike.
I propose a new and improved e-bike classification scheme:
Class A: Bikes that can not go over 10mph via a throttle. And can’t go over 28mph with pedal assist. Or set the pedal assist limit at 20mph if you’re feeling especially conservative.
Class B-Class infinity: These aren’t considered bikes. Class A is the only class of e-bike.

Having used Android Studio for work for a few years and used Xcode quite a lot for longer, I find the praise for Android Studio to be puzzling. I would give it "fine" but no way I'd say it is "good". I haven't used it enough compared to Xcode to say if one is better than the other.
This problem is very real. There is at least an ok way to avoid it getting too bad: make lots of View and ViewModifier structs, with each one having smallish amounts of code. Split them up to the extent that it feels silly.
As an added bonus, this is also the way to get good performance at run time. It helps minimize how many views need to get re-evaluated when something changes.

I've used it to make proper sheet music out of tabs people post on Ultimate Guitar. It was a slog to get started, but I suspect that is because of the wide range of symbols etc I needed to use. Once I had a sense for how to find things — after transcribing about a page of music — it was smooth sailing. I'd never written sheet music before using MuseScore 4.
I’ve had this happen as well. Unfortunately I only book — and want to drive — sedans, so I learned I have to make sure to say so to the rental company employee if they say they’re upgrading me for free. Even then, sometimes they have so few sedans that I’m stuck with the “upgrade” SUV.
I am surprised to see these are subscriptions when the Mac versions are one-time purchases. I wonder if they will make the subscriptions work for both these new iPad versions as well as for the Mac versions of the apps.
Why would everyone high speed charge? You can get 250 miles in Model 3 at 12 hours of 6.6kW (~22 mi/hour). Even only eight hours would get 170 miles. Eight hours of charging per night is doable for most people, I imagine.
I’ve used ARC with a stereo pair via my Apple TV for a while now. It sounds amazing. I can even play FPS games on my gaming PC with the audio piped to my HomePods, through the Apple TV via ARC, and there is no noticeable latency.
I also found Hinge to have a much higher hit rate of conversations-per-profile-seen, and dates, than the other apps.
I think Cloudlfare’s choice to block them is fine and CF was probably fine allowing their use of the service before, given the damage to their reputation they apparently considered acceptable.
Historically, you needed money or influence or both to make a “bad” (or in this case, actually bad) message widely available. What we’re seeing with Cloudflare and other companies choosing not to do business with some people is like a correction a bit back toward the past, after an hard swing toward unchecked, potentially widespread reach of speakers who wouldn’t have been heard much before.
To add more details, the legal precedent on this only says government accounts' posts and account pages are their own public-square-type place, not the entire Twitter service. Personal accounts when used for government-like purposes by government officials count too.
This is the way representative democracies work, including the US. Some places have tools such as recall elections that people can use in extreme cases, but usually, it is a matter of voting for someone else next time.
To my surprise, the most common issues I see with the desktop app are audio device issues, e.g. the app doesn't get any audio from my mic the first time I run it, only after I kill and re-launch it. The UI has been fine, if weird. I don't know of any major apps using RN on desktop so going that route may be worse than sticking with Electron.
The iOS app seems to work as well or better than the desktop app in my experience, so imagine my surprise finding out it's React Native. If the Android app will work just as well, this is good news.
Large networks of large roads are not financially sustainable [1]. I can only assume this is more the case the more rural you get. Asking for more of the current American style of car infrastructure may not even work, depending on the specifics.
