Wasn't most of the claims in that book refuted, some even by the author. I really enjoyed it and found some great insights only to be later told by a friend in that sphere that the book was not correct and even the author had "retracted" some of the assertions.

I recall a chap called Geocar demoing kOS, in a very impressive fashion. (I additionally recall an individual had to awkwardly hold the mic for the whole presentation)
Did anything ever come of kOS?
Genuinely curious, what do you mean?
Seems its okay if they are a "bad" person
[Ireland] In process of getting laid off, 2 interviews. Applied for about 30 roles.
Oracle vs. Google when Google suddenly realized that they should lose and intentionally threw the case.
But Google won?
I'm prob using the term wrong, it can be anywhere but in a small group or department it is exacerbated. With a large enough group it normally goes away.
I think others have pointed this out but this is a small company problem. I was a rockstar in a previous company and then went to a FAANG and lets just say, I am not a rockstar there.
I used to lead Sys Eng for a FTSE 100 company. Our data was valuable but only for a short amount of time. We were constantly scraped which cost us in hosting etc. We even seen competitors use our figures (good ones used it to offset their prices, bad ones just used it straight). As the article suggest, we couldn't block mobile operator IPs, some had over 100k customers behind them. Forcing the users to login did little as the scrapers just created accounts. We had a few approaches that minimised the scraping:
Rate Limiting by login,
Limiting data to know workflows ...
But our most fruitful effort was when we removed limits and started giving "bad" data. By bad I mean alter the price up or down by a small percentage. This hit them in the pocket but again, wasn't a golden bullet. If the customer made a transaction on the altered figure we we informed them and took it at the correct price.
It's a cool problem to tackle but it is just an arms race.

You are correct but it happens in all fields/passions ...etc E.G. Jazz, you need to be a very good musician to create good jazz. A programmer could create something that creates jazz but jazz musicians will find it lacking, for want of a better word.
Got lost in a train of thought but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Video was removed.
Set off in December 2019. Was great for a bit, traveled lots of south America but then covid hit.
Came home and started working with a FAANG, that bit was hard.
What would be a very good starter software defined radio?
Yip, everyone was paged last night, been in a bad way since. Got grief for commenting as much in thread.
Amazon?
I'm sure the content is good but it is difficult to read with all the grammatical errors.
As others have noted, there is a distinct lack of technical details.
Is there any info on what actually happened?
about 45 to 60 cm
Its the C9 and I have all the anti burnin features turned on, I have no issues, you can see the tv moving the whole screen a few pixels every so often.
Using 55" LG OLED @4k as my main display, nothing compares.
Is data removable, do you use?
I find 3 cyl motorcycles slow and lack top end.
Do you have an official source on that?
Fair enough.
I work for a FTSE 100 company and we recently completed a POC on GCP.
The sales guy was/is pushy but tbh the tech is very prescriptive on how things are done, it's the Google way or it doesn't work. That is not how enterprise works, you need to adapt to each customer.
We have lots of AWS and plan on using it more, we might be doing it sub optimally but it works.
Did he ever release K OS?
I seen a few bits and pieces from Geocar but never seen a release or download.
ahhh, didn't realise. Gun thing is mad
"Glass, which reflects everything around it" except the character standing in front of it! It seems like it is over done but not done properly. I know it is a demo but still, its trying so hard!
