If this was 2016, I'd think there could be a possibility. Given that the candidates for the election are almost 100% a foregone conclusion at this point, what purpose would it serve?
What platforms have anywhere near the reach and services that Meta does for a marketplace/advertising?
I'm not personally a fan of most social media, but saying "they could go somewhere else" is a pretty naieve/ignorant response.
Blaming an outage on DEI... Man that's a new one for me.
Could you let us know where you work? I want to make sure I never apply there.
This is kinda my thought too.
You can also look at it as a "perk" of the more expensive ticket. First class passengers on an airplane are the only ones that get a full meal on most domestic air travel. How is this different?
As far as I'm aware, the cheering is outside of the main control room (which is where the broadcasters are).
Also: there are no people on board. If it blows up, it's "only" money that's lost.
Really fun game! I'd love more :)
SEIZURE WARNING: Once you win, there is a lot of flickering.
So while some of my info was there, there was DRASTICALLY more data listed that has nothing to do with me. I've had this phone number since ~2001, any idea why that would happen?
This is an awesome idea!
Any plans to implement Fargate as an option? You mention the limitations of Lambda and Fargate pretty much takes care of all of those, without needing to provision EC2.
Wow, I had no idea something like that exists. Happen to have a link to the one you did? I'd be really interested in trying something like that.
A massive global coverup of the vaccine being bad, or conspiracy theorists using facebook to spread their narrative.

It's designed for electric cars, but it does include weather info in its routes. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but it is there.
Those are great to have. I will say that 3100mAh is pretty low and wouldn't even fully charge most smartphones. 20kmAh batteries can be purchased for less than $100, and 10k-15k mAh for less than $50.
A good idea to have just in case. :)
Holy shit. That is one hell of a rough start to ~2021~ 2022. As others have said, talking to someone can really help - when you're ready.
Only other advice would be to hug your dogs. Sometimes they're better than therapy.
Yes, your coworkers know. I for one am generally very vocal about it to my manager. People that aren't pulling their weight make my life harder.
You could be doing more and making your teammates live's better.
Be better.
Some of the resume screening service charge per application though, so it might at least cost Kellog a little bit of money.
Though they'll probably use that as an excuse to not provide insurance or pay a living wage... :(
Not sure this is HN content.
How are those better than using AWS/Azure/GCP/etc? I'd say the correct way to handle situations is to have things in multiple regions, and potentially multiple clouds if possible. Obviously, things like databases would be harder to keep in sync on multi cloud, but not impossible.
I don't think you can run SSO in multiple regions on the same AWS account.
TIL Amazon owns IMDB
This is actually true for a lot of hotel brands. It's more of a franchise situation.
I agree and disagree. For my gaming desktop, I'd just reinstall apps to get a fresh start.
I started my own software consulting/contracting thing this summer and if my machine crashed, every hour I'm not working is costing me money. So setting up all my apps again to get a fresh start isn't worth it. With TimeMachine on my NAS, I just get the replacement computer and let it restore while I sleep. Then I'm good to go the next morning.
JAMF is Apple only.
Depending on the size of your business, it's easier just to have a few (or even one if you're really small) spare machines for when one breaks or is having issues. Just turn it on, restore from the latest backup and give it to the user. Then send the old one off for repair if needed.
100% It actually let the fans spin down when plugged into a monitor.
No, they run MacOS (or OSX for older versions), a version of Unix. The M1s still run MacOS, just on a different type of processor hardware.
Not just consistency, but customer service. It's gone down a bit in recent years, but Amazon is still amazing at it. I can actually chat with someone, almost instantly, if I'm having a problem. Having had to deal with flight delays on American Airlines recently, it's insane how much of a difference there is.
Having had to get a passport recently, yes. At least better in the sense that you are actually receiving a service you've paid for.
It is virtually impossible to get an appointment at the passport office in the US right now. Not a local passport office, ANY passport office. There were people outside the one I went to offering a Nintendo Switch to people to trade for a time slot. The shortest wait time I had on the phone was three hours, and I called one minute after they opened.
It's sad that Christians don't use historical context when interpreting verses.
Because politicians in the US exist to accept bribes for personal gain. Very few of them seem to give two shits about anyone besides themselves. Especially on the right side of the aisle.
