3 pages of reply or overly verbose code, often without abstractions - I read all the posters here and in other forums say that programming has shifted towards reviewing AI output rather than coding said output manually; I agree, however, I just don't buy that everyone is actually reviewing the code as intensely as one would expect - there is a tendency that arrived rather quickly to assume that the AI is correct and efficient. I guess the ultimate reviewer is another AI agent I guess.

Yes, AI code generation is the same.
Are you the one who wrote it though or just the one who wrote prompts? Not that it matters in the end…
That’s why even though 99% of my work is C#, llms have made it so I can finally call myself a low-level programmer, which I’ve always aspired to. I didn’t even have to do anything.
You need Jean Claude for that.
But they used LateX
I thought the url said temu at first.
> Elon Musk says there will be no need for compilers as AI will write the binary directly
Wouldn’t that make the AI the compiler?
That’s why most doors come prehung in a jamb. Just add shims and then cover them with trim.
One time my wife and I were watching a documentary on Florence and I was convinced we’d been there, was asking my wife when we went. Turns out I’d played too much AC.
Same, games aside, it’s just so snappy. I knew windows was slow at a lot of things but I hadn’t quite realized how slow things as banal as locking/unlocking had become. The first week with cachyos was mind blowing on just that front.
Seems pretty good but you need to be a health care pro, it locks you out rather fast. Makes sense though, can’t be given unlimited free tokens.
I’m currently facing a severe health condition and I can’t help but ask various LLMs about it. They all will eventually offer solutions or avenues that sound promising or ‘easy’ when I know better, that the path ahead of me is hard, however they will non-chalantly offer a path forward they insist will work. The best part is when it cites commercial websites promotional statements as facts, though it will also misinterpret medical journals if I say to restrict itself to that.
In closing, my Redfin escapism has shifted to LLM medical escapism, I know better but if you don’t or you are in even more dire straits, it provides such an illusion of hope and that’s dangerous.
No, I fully agree with you.
Of course, some people never learn this but for those that do, I wonder if this sort of wisdom only comes with age and/or wealth. It’s easier to be nice/benevolent/decent when your back is not against the wall. When you’re in it, you might not even have your back against the wall but think you do.
Usually, they throw in some free content or dlc for pre-purchasing, entice people before potentially negative reviews.
If it's the game I'm thinking of, floppy copies were going around my middle school in France at the time but this was a game that without the manual, good luck even getting the plane off the ground. I seem to recall a mode where you started out in the air. Fun times.
Are you kidding, Iran is loving the current US leadership.
My BMW defaults to orange / reddish for night time and I’ve often thought it’s very easy on the eyes.
Like that time Kelly Rowland sent Nelly a text using excel https://www.reddit.com/r/popculturechat/comments/1b8xawt/kel...
I wonder how this sort of product is going over at Coverity and others like it. Proper SAST vendors I mean. Is it an existential threat?
Tangent but there's a great Sublime song titled `Garden Grove`. Looks like they made a modern video for it that presumably shows a lot of Garden Grove. Or it could be Long Beach, I don't know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpSo_zj0UQw
I was a lot more permissive parent when my children were imaginary.
To me, that actually screams LLM. At the very least much LLM assisted.
He’s one hell of an attorney too.
I think you're going to get downvoted to oblivion but as far as I'm concerned, that's been my impression as well.
I'm sorry that you're dealing with this - it was my greatest fear at that point. That my daughter seems to not have my disposition and seems happy go lucky is the greatest thing ever. There's no rhyme or reason to my depression and anxiety, it's completely maladaptive and I'm relieved, that knock on wood, she stays happy and light while not having to shield herself from the horrors of the world.
That was Baldrick's line though - he was definitely lower class.
Sometimes, it’s your own mind too. I have at times, pretty bad OCD in the form of terrible intrusive thoughts. They can trigger such distress in me that I’ve lost years of my life to them. Learning to tolerate them is essentially the first step to reducing their frequency in the conscious mind. That and meds but if I could just stop thinking some things, trust me, I would.
Evolution doesn’t care about happiness. Not directly anyways. I guess it cares for it as much as it is advantageous for reproduction, like smarts…
