Maybe the goal of working in Photoshop isn't to mimic the design pixel-by-pixel, but instead to "sketch."

Mocking things up in Photoshop can be really productive because everything you sketch (all of your background images, buttons, and art) can be used as an asset on your site with minimal effort.

Perhaps neither. In finding you attractive, I am interested in your character (your ideas, imagination, execution), so lying to me will be useless because I'm not interested in what you're working on as much as why and how you're working on it.

In taking you seriously, I am interested in your business (working with you, connecting you with people who might benefit your company), so lying to me will actually hurt you because you'll portray your company inaccurately.

Pretend for a second that you realize that girls read HN too.

If you massage the truth about your company, it's inconceivable that I would sleep with you, let alone take you seriously.

Yes, one shouldn't pass judgement on homeless people, but the music analogy doesn't hold.

I presume that, whether you listen to country or rap, there is some degree of choice in your actions. So many homeless people end up on the streets because of mental illness or domestic violence -- things that are absolutely out of their control.

So instead, at least for me, it is difficult to see and accept homelessness as an alternative lifestyle. It requires a different level of empathy.
