I jumped onto a point that sounded like a sad black mirror episode where the actors are trapped in a time loop forever, forced to come up with dumb jokes.

Elaine: "Why are we here"

Jerry: "to tell jokes"

Elaine: "But why are we here together"

Jerry: "Maybe fate put us here for a reason. To make the world a funnier place."

Elaine: "Alright, let's do it."

I grew up as a dirt poor immigrant. The only reason I got into MIT, and am successful today, was because of the gifted programs that allowed me to stand out from the other mediocre students at the schools.

Were most of my gifted classmates wealthy? Yes. But being among them did more for my social mobility than anything else the school ever did.

Synapse Technology | Palo Alto, CA | Software Engineers & Deep Learning Engineers | Full-Time | syntechcorporation.com

We build technology to help automate x-ray security checkpoints everywhere they're deployed – airports, courthouses, office buildings, venues/stadiums, etc. Currently working with several international airports.

We're collecting quite large datasets that have not been explored previously, and are primarily looking for deep learning engineers to join our ranks which include research engineers from Stanford, MIT, and Waterloo. We're also looking for full-stack engineers, and currently more interested in those with front-end experience to take on client-facing projects.

Come join us to write code that will impact millions of travelers! Send me a note at bruno@syntechcorporation.com

Synapse Technology | Palo Alto | Onsite, full-time | Deep Learning & Computer Vision, Full Stack

We're making security checkpoints worldwide more automated and efficient through software and algorithms; particularly at airports, office buildings, and other high-security areas.

We're actively working with global airports, regulators, X-ray OEMs, governments, and system integrators to get our technology into highly regulated environments that see little innovation and startup attention. There are opportunities to work with never-before-explored datasets! We're also supported by world-class advisors and investors internationally both in the private and public sector.

We have a small ~7-person team, but impactful. Competitive salary, full health benefits, unlimited vacation, relocation assistance.

We're looking for:

* Deep Learning & Computer Vision Engineer

* Full Stack Python and Javascript Engineer

* Infrastructure and Back-end

Synapse Technology Corporation | border security | San Francisco | ML & Computer Vision Intern, part-time, full-time w/ equity (early hire)

Synapse is bringing computer vision and deep learning to the defense sector. The first product we're developing is automated threat recognition software for the TSA for the detection and classification of threats/prohibited items (guns, knives, hammers, water bottles) in baggage. In a short time we've built relationships with TSA, DH, and most of the large x-ray and CT manufacturers.

Looking for someone with any experience in: developing classification algorithms and architectures on visual data, processing 3D data, deep learning, using C++ libraries (to work with vendor data), Windows (for eventual integration with hardware)

Shoot me a note if you're at all interested in what we do! Would love to chat. bruno@syntechcorporation.com

+1 this course was very much so either a) Do this basically exactly how we told you do do it, basically "filling in the blanks" b) Predict the midterm elections (well fuck, this is an intro class, I'm really not sure what to do)

I found it to be quite poorly structured, and its lessons did not translate well into being able to do data science off on your own problems

This is honestly how I felt about shaving with a straight razor. Everyone I spoke to about it was like "you're crazy! you'll cut yourself. At the very least use a safety razor to warm up to something like that." I had a gift card to Art of Shaving, and bought a shavette.

Two weeks in, I haven't cut myself once, and I shave faster and better than I ever have.

Hey guys! Re: Video quality. ustream didn't work with our network and their web client wasn't able to pick up our USB camera input. HD, zoomed videos will be uploaded in the next few days.
