Probably Ethereum or a stablecoin on top of the Ethereum blockchain. This would also open the door to supporting in-page transactions with Metamask, which might make a smoother experience.

Surprising there is no mention of any CNN based methods for NLP. A different approach that seems to provide results on par with the state of the art in some NLP tasks [1].

I'm working on a voicecall widget that lets businesses be called by their visits for free with just one click (using Flash and WebRTC). It's called Calloud (https://calloud.com ).

I'm doing it because I'm a big fan of tools like Olark or Zopim which are essentially the same but for live written communication (chat). Because some people prefer talking rather than typing, I'm selling a live voice communication alternative so websites can tailor to this preference as well.

This is one of these very simple yet useful ideas. It's much more likely my subscribers will respond to one question by clicking than by having to reply my email.

Yeah, but quite a relative issue depending on the exchange. The first thing you learn is that you can't sell at market prices, you just have to place some orders and wait. To be honest I made a few mistakes related to this when I was starting and lost some money. On Btc-e my orders aren't that large so there's nothing to worry about when placing them. It felt more risky on Bitstamp, and Kraken specially due to low volume, but I rarely have to trade there.

Now I'm covering the costs of running my own SaaS [1] with these profits to create a more sustainable business (I've lost confidence in Bitcoin from an investment standpoint). At this moment my SaaS has 2 trial users but no paying customers.

Many posts on PH aren't submitted by the creator of what is being posted. The main idea behind Show HN posts is posting your own creations. The public here is also more tech oriented than in PH - more product oriented.

Because all these services ask you for your phone number and shift the conversation to your phone, while with Calloud the conversation takes place in your computer and you don't have to give away your phone number. So, instead of interacting with your computer at the same time you are using your phone, everything happens on your browser. It is a more fluid and better experience.

Will take into account. To be honest, I've considered adding a trial option but can't afford to give away many accounts because I'm self funding it and there's no revenue to cover operating costs yet.

Something that I can see happening eventually. Externally, the audio jack is the most constraining part of the iPhone. Removing it would mean slimmer iPhones, and makes sense with this trend of bigger screens and slimmer devices.

Not that impossible. I listen to music on my iPhone while charging it when I'm on my secondary laptop and Internet connection is too slow for streaming music over iTunes Match.

I used to feel this way too (knowing about a broad range of things, but thinking I was not good enough at anything specific to be "hireable"), but luckily I realised this is not necessarily bad. Generalists are ideal people to found a startup and they can be a huge asset to have at any company, especially at small companies / startups. And furthermore, don't push yourself too hard, at the end you're still a student. You can specialise later if you want.

I also wonder when is Apple going to update Safari with WebRTC support. It's something many users could really benefit from.

The problem is that Twitter's filtered Streaming API has quite a small limit on the number of words that you can provide to match tweets. So, it would be impossible to scale.

A better option might be retrieving tweets from the Firehose Streaming API, but one would need a massive backend to handle it. Additionally, access has to be requested to Twitter and it's very rarely granted. Alternatively, Datasift or Gnip can be better sources for the firehose, but I think they only provide a fraction (like 1/10) of the real amount of tweets that go through the actual firehose.
