I agree with you on that. I didn't mean to say that the idea or the video wasn't good.

Maybe this is a nitpick but I'd revise the opening sentance: "There is no better way to learn something than to watch someone else do it".

I think we can all agree that when it comes to programming the _best_ way to learn it is to actually program.

Nice app! If you are going to keep the ads (I'd rather pay something like $1), please show them on the frontpage compared to when I'm reading the article. Also it would be nice if it would not reload the frontpage every time I come back from reading an article.

Think about what kind of games you like to play, choose one of them and try to simplify it down to the bare minimum, no fluff. Then start making the most basic feature and continue from there.

I'm a relatively new Mac user and never used MacPorts. When I search brew I get these results:

$ brew search gcc

I'm a bit confused since I thought that these are gcc. Can someone tell me what those results mean? :S

Could you point out some of the projects that have those beginner type lists? Could be useful as a starting point.

Seems a bit similar to http://ge.tt/ - They also feature a drag-and-drop uploading, with 2GB for free, user registration and an API with wrappers for a few languages. Two features from them that you should maybe consider is a) to automatically start uploading when files are dropped on the site and b) if no file has been dropped on the site and the user clicks the upload button, present them with a file chooser.

Otherwise, nice job. I like the simplicity of the design, but it is a bit bottom heavy because of the big, black button.

Gun.io already has that covered, at least in the States (for now).

If this popular post was an article, it is not surprising that majority or the survey takers preferred articles since they were already reading an article. This is called sampling bias. How would the result look like if the survey was conducted on a page with a screencast. In that case people might favor screencasts.

It's just honest to state that they are affiliate links, regardless of he deserves the revenue or not.

I loved the picture's caption accompanying the article: "Schools will be free to use teaching resources that will equip pupils for the 21st Century". The picture then shows young pupils using aging CRTs. It made me smile :)

I often listen to Sneaker Pimps, Four tet, Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation, Röyksopp and Air... I like to mix it up as well (aka. shuffle)!
