Just curious how many units did he complete to have 5 of these degrees? I'd like to know the breakdown of classes he took etc to achieve this. Quite impressive for a 12 year old.

I certainly was in the camp that late in highschool I took some classes at the local junior college and I really wish I had just taken more classes there that could have carried over to my 4 year college.

I wish I still had it. My favorite version he did was the Maxx. I think it was a little before he joined ACiD.

Think about this at times. How many people I even met at meetups or even knew early early days of Defcon. The underground bbs scene and then the underground irc channels. Oh well.

Hardcore trip down memory lane. Went to high school with lord jazz (ACiD) and all my bbs ansi was done by him. Had loads of fun back in those days running my board. Tons of cool user meetups. Love seeing videos and art expos that display this work.

Highly recommend. Switched after another developer at my office mentioned it. I suggested the filter active branch hot key and it was added I believe in less than a week. Comes out of the box with a great dark mode. The way you can view the commits diffs in the program is wonderful as well. It's the one thing I didn't like about git kraken. Which I even had suggested that they add a different view for that and I would have purchased for my whole team.

Came here to say this. When ever I'm lagging on putting down some code. I can grab another developer that seems like they are just in that afternoon haze too. A lot of times just talking about things much more elegant and dry solutions come too.

I always appreciate posts like these as a direct comparison for getting things done in linux vs a mac. For day to day I still personally feel there is enough on offer from my mac that I'd be driving around the n-x version of what I really want. However, that being said it's getting so much closer!

netflix starts it's own high end theaters. Think how rad that would be that maybe they hold back on a season finale of a show and you see the last one in a theater. Then the next day it releases on the service. Get to be around a bunch of people chatting about theories. Or something along those lines. Upgrade your account package to include seeing stuff in their venues. Make it an experience around their flagship shows. I'd go.

It's very painful to listen to the majority of our elected officials ask technical questions.

I haven't ever had a facebook. What I find more chilling is why would my phone be giving over all that meta data? I'm just wondering then what other apps are just collecting that data and what security setting can be enabled to say that data shouldn't be shared! wtf.

My company hires junior devs. We mentor them and train them up. When their skill level goes up they get paid more after reviews. Some have left and that's fine and is natural in a company. We take interns on too and have hired from that pool as well.

Why isn't there a setting that you can just choose to see everything in chronological order. That's fine if you want to default people to the algorithm feed. It's just such a simple thing to add.

I want more sites to do this. Would be so wonderful.

Well I think part of GTD is that brain dump of tasks. So that they are captured some place other than your memory.

This. My trojan horse has been that I have an IT company as well. Get in provide little IT services. You have the ear of the business owner and they are more than happy to let me know little itches they want scratched. A lot of these have resulted in very nice little niche applications.

Tell myself to finish a lot of the ideas I had started. That they were excellent ideas. It's what actually drives me a lot now when I have ideas and at points doubt what I'm doing.

You know how to code. Take time off if you have savings. You will find a job if you desire going back to work for someone else.

What about the person that wants to make some good money while also enjoying the process. Wanting nice things and seeks financial freedom so as to provide a exceptional living for him/herself as well as for their family.

I dream big. I am realistic and I take time to enjoy what I have. It's not just reaching the summit that will be that moment. The journey is fantastic and it's the journey to that exceptional lifestyle that is all part of it.

This article just comes at it from the entrepreneur that is only coming at it for having the ends justify the means. However, a lot of people have jobs like that. Heck I'd wager to say more than 50% easily of the population have jobs like.

So I'd say to the entrepreneur that does slog away at something that he/she really isn't into and does end up with at least the experience. That's awesome. Maybe just the process of starting a business albeit tech one at first gives them experience. That down the line they are already ahead to possibly start some type of another business.

I've had a lot of these types of meetings. Everyone has an app idea. I'm always ears though because ideas have come to me that are very interesting. The noise to signal ratio though is pretty terrible.

It's always interesting to have them reference apps and designs that they think their app should end up looking like. Very quickly a general breakdown of things in regards to the app they are looking to build can follow. Even taking the approach of outsourcing and painting a picture of how that works.

A lot of times I've gone the route with at least doing the mockups of the pages with a little on how the UI will work. It's something that I know I'm selling that will be of value to them even if they choose not to have us continue on with the development and to just really boil down the idea and even more importantly what kinda of money and time it's going to take to develop the idea.

I eat breakfast and lunch alone about a lot of the time. I love it. I enjoy eating with company if we are there for a more leisure lunch and can enjoy the time. While working though I generally don't like eating with anyone because most of the time people just end up venting about their job.

The one little break I have during lunch I don't want to be talking about work. I want to enjoy where I'm eating or more often than not I go eat my lunch at the beach or a park in between clients and might listen to music or a podcast.

When I do go to restaurants alone even if it's a nice place I will sit at the bar. I like to make small talk with those people if it is not busy.

Along with eating I go surf, golf, and skate alone a lot of times. However, with all these things I generally end up meeting and talking with people. Sometimes I don't though and it's nice just to focus on the activity and just enjoy that.

It's nice when people will come eat, surf, golf, etc. with me. However, given time constraints I don't let people not coming with me a lot of times get in between me going and enjoying a place or activity if it's something I want to do and that's the time in my schedule that permits me the time to go do that thing.

Off topic: I love how this was just typed up in a text file. I love using my text editor for writing and I wish more people I worked with did too.

Posted a couple issues regarding the phone field on github. Would like to use this on a current project. It's a great start and look forward to it just getting a little further down the road.

To the people talking about this is a sign of Steve Jobs being gone. I'm sure he had his hand in wanting to get away from Google Maps. These types of things were still part of his plan. AppleTV (the none hobby version) is part of his plan. We haven't seen that. There is still a trail that Steve laid down we are walking on. It's more 5-10 years from now I imagine that will lack the touch. Maybe it is fading. It's still there though. imho.

It's not mentioned here yet. In safari or chrome on iOS going to maps.google.com works pretty darn well. Except for showing me what direction I'm currently facing it is pretty darn close.

So if the new app is giving you that much trouble or you need that little bit more of information that google provided you. Just open it up.

Looking forward to the update with things running on a bootcamp partition. This is the way I have it running currently on a couple machines. I've yet to update those to 10.8 as I was waiting for this type of test to start surfacing before making my choice.
