Was really hoping that this was going to be a useful thread for me, as I have a 8 going on 9 year old who mostly wants to be doing computer games, minecraft and making stuff all day long. But unsuprisingly there's some haters who really could have not bothered in this thread... I mean seriously why waste your own time?

For me I'm going to give raspberry pi a go and hope that he gets excited about the hardware aspect and making things with it as well as the software side... and if he breaks it cool, no problem, where as breaking my work mac would be catastrophic for me and my ability to work :(

I use duckduckgo and google for search – sometimes I find the google AI answers helpful (even though sometimes inaccurate still) for more categorical questions that I simply need an anwser or somewhere to start with (i.e. "can you eat charcoal?"), I then go ahead a click some links...

I use ChatGPT for text summation and translation, and midjourney for slide decks and graphic design ideation.

AI or game dev stuff mostly:

- machine ethics podcast - future of life institute - infinite monkey cage - Lex Fridman - Designer notes - game makers noteboook - three moves ahead

wow, long and interesting thread! I'm sure people have already pointed out but your website needs a content overhale to actually say what your doing and roughly how... also, tangent question, can concrete be made from concrete? just thinking what happens when we cover the earth in the stuff we could use something else or reuse?

RSS is literally how I get my news from the web. We should be making useage and protocal better for the modern concerns of power consumption (bandwidth usage), delivery and user discovery.

Love to hear any additions or pointers you might have. This article was mainly to point out the obvious to much of the cryptocurrency industry (but not necessarily to the average Joe) and as discussed in the comments there are efforts and alternatives. My main worry is that people can sometimes put blind faith in a technology, when they should really knock it down and build on its sturdy foundations
