I've worked formal 3 and 4 day week arrangements. Net experience: it's pointless, if you're working 4 day weeks and you're feeling behind, you may well end up working that 5th day without anyone asking.

Similarly in a 5 day week arrangement, I've never felt compelled to actually work the full week especially when I'm ahead.

Ignoring any formality, I think most folk work a 2-3 week if they were honest about it.

I wouldn't sweat having a 3/4 day arrangement as a reason to pick one company over another, especially if the offer is implicitly part of attempting to screw you on salary

If a technology makes money laundering a prerequisite to privacy, the technology itself is bullshit. There's no need to spend words to justify this further.

If Linux were a focal point for enabling North Korea and Iran to develop nuclear weapons, then yes, sanction the hell out of it. But sanctioning Linux would have such dramatically negative societal effects that it would outweigh any benefit - the same is not true of a mixer. Mixers in my view have absolutely no legitimate use, their exclusive purpose is the enablement of deviant behaviour in one form or another free of societal accountability, and it'd be a red flag for me just to know someone used one regardless of knowing why they used it.

Germany will not build any new LNG terminals when in a few short years they can just resume buying from the cheapest seller, before the first new terminal has even finished being constructed.

Simultaneously Russia is not stupid enough to completely cut off the gas and trigger a total crisis. They are pulling on the chains but they understand the risk to the relationship just as well as you do. Don't forget all the gas supply shortages to date have been justified in terms of required maintenances and problems due to western sanctions. That's paving a route for resumption of normal relations between both parties at a later date with no loss of face for either party.

It's not really how the work is split in bigger commercial teams. The folk fixing the layout bugs aren't the folk who designed the page aren't the folk who designed the flow. I like to avoid big teams but even for me UI/UX mean very different things, you can find this split even on relatively small teams

A 2-3 person team might have frontend/UI/UX being the single 'frontend developer'

A 5-7 person team might have one or more frontend people and one UI/UX person living in Adobe suite all day

Maybe the 7 person team is receiving storyboards from a parent team where all the UX work was done centrall across several 5-7 person teams.

Does Textualize have a good example application? I was impressed by the demos (moreso that the company is somehow funded!), but I couldn't find any actual real world application using it yet.

Also reliance on the mouse in the demos made me feel a bit queasy. Anything involving overriding the default mouse semantics in a terminal window can go straight to hell

GitHub made a huge fuss in a blog post about their compliance with the ePrivacy directive not more than 2 years ago. I personally found their approach and interpretation interesting and unique, so this change seems noteworthy for that reason alone
