I mean, I guess from '65 to around 96? We had a good run.
The Butlerian Jihad will come to pass, I reckon.
This resonates. The after effects of age verification and the general exclusion of freedom loving coders is going to leave me standing here in the tumbleweeds with my 90s toyota and laptop with solar panels and unregulated radio frequencies my only communication with the outside world.
Its like those movies coming true. I've already had casual user accounts frozen just for accessing via VPN, or some other inscrutable reason.

"Prices will reach a permanently high plateau"
Ninety-nine dreams I have had
In every one, a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standin' pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you, and let it go
This is suddenly an amazing proof of concept for Vouch
I get it, it got big on tiktok a while back, but having thought about it a while: i think this is a terrible epithet to normalize for IRL reasons.
He makes a lot of great points, but I vaguely feel he missed the point of the book. I guess he "just couldn't like get into it man."

Its really the only thing on macOS + iOS that I use. Otherwise I am so over the mac lifestyle.
Well, A-Team was objectively terrible but I have a nostalgic connection to kids shows like that, Knight Rider etc. In retrospect Bay Watch was an effective CPR training tool at unprecedented scale.
I would be hesitant to pass judgement.
Adding my voice of concurrence, I would say 'Comrade' but people take it the wrong way.

I would figure state actors don’t need to go through the trouble of a browser extension. But, yeah.

“My grandmother saved seeds, and today the court has said I can do the same for my grandchildren without fear of the police or of prison,” he said.
Unconscionable to support such a law IMO.
Read "confessions of an economic hitman", you'll get the gist
bravo, this is a great use of talent for society
Wrong - sorry. The reason is that politically the US public is very skillfully managed from above via divide and conquer strategies and beaureaucratic techniques (i.e. identity politics, gerrymandering voting districts). The public polling is very clear about US citizen preferences, but US Govt policy is rarely aligned that way.
