Started off as a concept artist for a few years, then started doing particle effects, moved into 3d environment modeling for a few years, and did a few characters, then moved into character modeling for a few years, then animation, then character rigging, then rigging automation through mel script for a few years. then worked as a technical artist for several years, then learned more programming stuff, then wrote a bunch of unreal script for a few projects for a few more years, then learned C# for unity and now i've been writing C# for VR apps for a while...

My iPhone just has "testing games" mode... i use my android for Unity development, then only when I need to do i find some ios thing to check it's doing what it's supposed to. sigh...

sounds great. I live in san francisco, every time there's a ballgame (today) at AT&T park I have to contend on my bike with hundreds of suburban drivers who think bikes are supposed to be on the sidewalk. Aside from that, I drive my car about once every other month.

i dropped out after deciding that there was no way id be able to afford the debt that i would be going into after 4 years of college.

I got a job as a artist working at a few different game companies then went to work on a movie for disney. i turned into a programmer about three years ago.

making games was more fun than making movies, by far.

Each new job position has been through referral by peers. been at this since atari in `93, I've never been asked about a college degree once.

got a house, a cool little machine shop, 3d printer, in san francisco... not bad, not bad at all.

I sit with three monitors at my desk, one for debug and testing, the other two for code and I'm still fighting for space for my image editing software and 3d modeling software. If i could have two monitors at 4k each I'd be in heaven.

The idiot problem is with how fonts are still scaled with pixels. I hate seeing aliasing in my 3d apps, if the resolution was high enough that when anti-aliasing is turned on the edges of my meshes shouldnt look thick.

I want real hair line edges as it is with most modern anti-aliasing systems you end up with lines that can be three pixels thick (sort of) and that's just ugly.

At 300pixels per inch that problem would be eliminated and still result in a clean hair line edge (awesome)...

I've moved from att to sprint, not really that much of a change, but it's not att. I've moved from godaddy to networksolutions, and I'm on sonic.net for my home dsl, and I've not had regular cable service since 2002. I'm also working at a fringe game company and I dont use photoshop or any other adobe anythings and I try to use Modo or blender for 3d whenever possible. Maya and max are hard to get away from...

I wish i could say we used ubuntu, but that's just on my personal laptop... :-\

Naive to say the least. Mell Watt, one of congressmen present at the first hearing admitted to not knowing what a dividend was, and voted to allow banks to gamble on chaotic markets causing the 2008 crash. Now he's admitting to "not knowing anything about this technology" and saying "im no nerd, but..." and then continues to say that Issa was just wrong, and his experts are wrong, experts which include google. If you don't understand what you're voting on you're supposed to abstain.
