It does nothing to change the fact that, conditional on evidence we currently have, we may very well have correctly proportioned credence.

Typically antitrust laws apply to a company using a monopoly in one industry to behave anti-competitively in another. Unity is behaving terribly, but they aren't a monopoly, and this isn't really even anti-competitive, it's just shitty. There's a greater case that they aren't properly representing the fiduciary interests of their shareholders.

A few years back, I came down with the flu and went to CVS for medicine. I purchased what I thought was a non-prescription alternative to Tamiflu. It was a bad case, and I dutifully followed the dosing instructions and took the medication throughout the whole illness. It turns out the product and the supposed function is complete homeopathic nonsense. It was sold in a medicine isle along with known "functional" cold medicine, and had some "Active Ingredient" listed on the back (similar to any other drug label.)

I spent my money on a product sold by a pharmacy that is quite literally a scam. I'm naturally a skeptical person, but I didn't think I needed to independently check whether what's on a pharmacy store's shelves is medicine or a scam. That's not my lane, I trusted that the pharmacy would only sell medicine that works.

It depends on what the goal posts are for what "work" means. I think sanctions work when their cost offsets some of the benefit received through the "undesired behavior" of the target country. They also "work" when the threat of sanctions causes countries to avoid behaviors that would cause them to become sanctioned.

If the goal posts are that sanctions must destroy a country's warfighting capabilities in order to "work", then yes, they almost never work.
