it’s common for cheap esim providers to route data etc through cheaper data exits, i imagine this is partly why.

(I recently purchased an esim and was surprised to see it exiting poland instead of the country the mobile provider (Bell) resides in)

they can (or could).

if this is really within your threat model i suggest treating travel to the US much like travel to any other foreign hostile nation.

there’s plenty of articles written and some probably that apply better for canadians (written from the perspective of your own security agency)

basic advice like take a burner laptop and leave sensitive information at home.

here’s the aussie one.(1)

Good luck.

This sums it up better than I can: https://taiuru.co.nz/branding/#Consultation

| If using a Māori cultural element, it is essential that you create a cultural narrative around your brand or product including the usage, your thinking and where you gained inspiration from. In Māori culture this is called ‘whakapapa’. Everything in the Māori world has whakapapa. It is also your first line of defense if someone accuses you of cultural appropriation.

If you mean Kākāpō - yes it is!

I saw this is already a Github issue for this project - but use of a Māori bird name is considered tapu (holy or sacred) to Māori.

Hopefully that doesn't distract from the project, the developer should probably consider the implications of choosing such a name (it may look like cultural appropriation).

Kia ora!

Losing my son 3 years ago

I appreciate that your post is thoughtful and has good intentions, but can i suggest not telling people how they can or cannot feel, or what they should or shouldn’t do? (hah. putting myself into this basket for a second and acknowledging this comment)

emotions are complex. you can show compassion and empathy without instruction?

inshallah

i'm first aid / pre-hospital rescue trained and i carry a small first aid kit in my bag at all times.

I'm going to be more useful if I take my bag, and I can have it out from under the seat in front of me and around my body in seconds.

So yeah, I'm taking my bag.

All the sites in the article were hosting illegal (in NZ) content - they were temporarily blocked till the video (of a terrorist killing innocent people) was taken down.

Nobody needs to see that.

It's not about free speech.

The sites in question are used to spread hate, racism, violence and bigotry.

Why are we tolerating this kind of media in our lives? Why are we letting people upload this?

It is not free speech. It is targeted hate.
