Truth of the matter is Ryan Dahl is a suboptimal CEO. Being able to build good open source software does not have a strong correlation with being able to build a successful business.

What you're looking for is Dokploy. It's much better than it's predecessors like Dokku, CapRover, etc.

Redux should not be used for 1 person projects. If you need redux you'll know it because there will be complexity that is hard to handle. Personally I use a custom state management system that loosely resembles RecoilJS.

+1 for specialization, in my experience working on a fullstack team is significantly more painful than having a specialized role. Of course it’s partially because you have to learn a bunch of stuff, but I’ve also found that fullstack teams tend to have poor planning, e.g. it’s structured as fullstack to constantly fill gaps in a not well defined project / roadmap. Fullstack is good experience if you want to do your own projects / startup, but not a peaceful job.

Chili Mac is the best flavor IMO, especially if you combine the cheese spread with it.

For those asking why this is useful:

Mac mini's without a monitor hooked up can only display at a certain aspect ratio while remote screen sharing. The typical solution is to use a dummy hdmi plug (~$10) plus an app like SwitchResX (~$20) to support custom screen resolutions.

If OP's app works as described, then this is a free software solution to a $30 problem.

If the reverse happened, no doubt Microsoft would be sending cease and desists to edgedb.

While the premise of the article is sickening, I'd take opinion articles from WSJ with a big grain of salt. Their general reporting tends to be somewhat neutral, but their opinion articles tend to be invasively slanted and spun.

Those kind of movements don't happen when the people who live there are more focused on TC and rent payments.
