Well tbh, the question is really how would you go on about knowing about failed startups. Especially not the big ones, since typically no one covers a failed startup that no one has heard about and they just go out without even a puddle in the water.

Using them now after switching from mediatemple. They seem pretty decent, their support is great, 24/7 live chat support.
About 2 weeks, my startup was targeted to students at a specific location.
Not much marketing was done; besides facebook and flyer distribution.

Yup, i'd switch to either Stripe or WePay- tbh, being based in Canada... Stripe/WePay guys make it seem like we're foreigners o_O

It looks like Paypal takes care of PCI compliance only if you use; PayPal Website Payments Standard, Email Payments, or Payflow Link. Otherwise you're on your own.
If you have companies like Facebook using it... surely you'd think PHP is on the right path, no?

Problem is with users who don't have a paypal account, when they are taken to paypal payment page- they see this big login box and small button under all that for 'other payment options.'
Alternatively, you can build your own and save some $$- that's what we're doing.

I can't really judge the app itself cause i don't have an iPhone, but from a UI perspective- it looks below par. Maybe its time you get a designer on your team? Which is where i might be of assistance...
