KDE Connect is great, but it sometimes doesn't work well enough on Apple Devices. I've been using LocalSend with better success when sharing to Android or Windows. But for Android to Linux/Windows and Vice versa, it's pretty much perfect.

You can already do this with F2 by using capture variables:

I mean, my S10+ is 5 years old now so it's definitely going to be worse. I'm sure the latest devices are ~on par.

There's no reason to upgrade a phone more than once in five years at least for me.

I bought a an iPhone 15 Pro Max few months ago and compared it to my S10+ which I bought in 2019 and still have. There's practically no difference for regular day to day stuff, except for the camera advancements which are notable (but not night & day either).

It was only the frustrating battery life, and desire to enter the superior iPhone camera ecosystem that forced me to upgrade.

This hasn't been a problem on Android in 7-8 years. I bought my S10+ brand new in 2019, and it still works flawlessly till today (well, except the battery).

The S7 Edge was the last time I experienced slowdowns after 1-2 years.

I wish Sony would release a new version with updated "AI" auto focus, the new menus, and 4k60 10bit. The Mark IV is till great though as a single do it all camera.

Yes of course, you can use keyboard to do everything in Zellij. One thing that eased my transition was the addition of (customizable) Tmux keybindings so that muscle memory was retained.

Zellij has that too. I rarely use that though.

I was using a similar workflow before switching to Zellij.

The benefit is that you can only use one window for every project instead of 2 or more.

What I usually do is have Vim take up the entire window and use floating terminals for background stuff which can be brought in and out of view with a hot key.

The floating terminals are stacked by default, but they can also be arranged side by side if needed.

I won't claim it to be a huge game-changer for productivity, but its definitely a nicer workflow for me.

I switched from Tmux to Zellij ~2 months ago. What I like most about it is the floating panes feature that makes it really easy to create terminals for running stuff in the background without taking up space in the main window.

I've been a long-term mcpro24fps and a user of Filmic pro before that. It's a great app, no doubt about it. The issue is not the app, but the OEMs who makes things difficult, artificially limiting the capabilities of the devices and even removing features in updates. Nothing is consistent and each device works differently from the next one, even from the same manufacturer. A long running joke in the McPro24fps Telegram chat is to never upgrade!

Log seems like a strong reason to finally switch from Android to iPhone if you're a photography/filmmaking enthusiast like myself. The ecosystem is so much more mature and the gap seems to be growing not shrinking.

Android has Raw Video with MotionCam which also produces insanely good results¹ (even better than iPhone's ProRes video), but everything else just sucks.

Best thing is to shoot in Raw or ProRraw and post-process yourself

I'm no longer interested in smartphone photography where everything is tuned to appeal to the lowest common denominator. The ergonomics, image quality, and customisability of dedicated cameras still put them leagues ahead. Even an Rx100 with its tiny 1 inch sensor is more enjoyable to use, and you can take it everywhere too.

This certainly looks interesting. I've been using Kitty for a while and it works great and supports so many features. It would be nice to see how it compares to Foot in terms of speed. I'm also curios about Ghostty, the in-progress (but currently private) terminal from Mitchell Hashimoto.

I tend to put the logger in the context as it becomes request-scoped when you bind the request ID to it in middleware. Zerolog has a useful method to get the logger from the context, which is really handy.
