Honestly, I think that I NEED to improve my network and my blog is a attempt of doing so. I'm also joining entrepreneur groups and attending to meetings. Yes, I do have some people whose judgment I trust and respect and I go after them all the time but they are most located in England and Brazil.
The problem is that right now I have nobody in my shoes. Got here in the U.S. 2 months ago, barely know a few people and all of them are not in the startup world. But I do agree with you that I need a recommendation

Yes I did and I'm sure I have a great opportunity in my hands but I also have some difficulties to face. I had a co-founder which was the coder and unfortunately he had to drop off the idea because personal reasons. We were working in a online investment social network which I'm pretty sure is great but now I can see some reasons to not be selected. I can do really little coding and I'm a sole founder right now. Let's see what is going to happen.

That is funny!! I was sure very young back than but I love to log on the BBS back in Brazil. There wasn't a lot of them but it was great fun to spend hours doing nothing just making the phone bill go bigger and bigger

First I tried the page your website suggested and everything worked just fine. Than I decided to hit back and try another site. I typed the calendar URL I wanted and than I just couldn't hit Ok. It wasn't working. So I had to reload the page and than Ok button was working. Well, I'm using Firefox 3 maybe is because of that but you should check it out.
Also I tried to add http://www.core77.com/calendar/ and I couldn't because the only thing I got was the processing status bar for more than 10 minutes.
Have you ever thought about building a Firefox plugin for it? It would be a great tool.

Thats a really hard task to accomplish. Is it poor english stupid? What about foreigners writing in english? Are they all stupid, they won't write 100% proper english. What about misspelled words?
I think irrelevancy and inaccuracy are the best way to distinguish stupid from smart and the key to know what is one what is the other is probably on the subject of the comments and that would be a related/non-related filter not a stupid filter.
Honestly, by the name it got I think it is more intended to get a lot of buzz than to really become a real product. Isn't Mr. Ortiz just trying to get some attention? The definition of stupid is directly related to the reader so you can't have a filter for that, it would have to be personal.
Sounds like you are describing OpenID. Once i thought about a little software that would work like a real world id. Every time a web service ask you for personal info you would just click on a icon and show them your id (that means that the software would pass all the details to the service). Would that work? It sounds a lot like google checkout...
I have to agree with huhtenberg, I never heard about Jottit and I went there to check it out but a big blank field with a "create a site" button tells me nothing. Honestly, that is a lot missing in there...
Well, I'm saying this but I'm not based on any data, it is just my opinion. You will find tons of computer illiterates on Facebook and MySpace. When I say tons I really mean it. Those users, based on my observations, really have a higher ad-click rate but social networks at the same time have a low click rate. When surfing those sites people are usually just "wasting" some time and they know what they are looking for: they wanna know more about life of others...
I really think it is important to do a alpha round and it is even better if you do it before you have all the features on. And you know why? Because your friends that come and test your alpha version will tell in what direction should you head. They will now better than you. Maybe those features that you say will make your app complete on a minimal level is not what your audience is looking for.
