As I understand openphoto you still have to store your private photos on public cloud-services? But if I have my own server I like to store them there. I feel better if I control who can access my photos.

What would you use SMS for? The main problem with SMS is, that someone has to pay for. You thought of using SMS for inbound or outbound?

The problem with showing this tools is that noone will enter his email-credentials on my site, or would you do that? So the only way is to make the source public so everyone can install it on his own server. It's not like Diaspora where you can create an anonymous account to test the system.

Seems not to be an interesting idea...

I created several diaries for myself. Each for my children to send some pictures and thoughts from my mobile or picasa and another for daily memories.
