No. I don't trust Facebook, but then again, I haven't trusted Facebook in a long time (which is why I deleted my account).

Except that my account isn't deleted even when Facebook said they would after 14 days. That's just one example.

But the reason why the very liberty of citizens of the United States is under threat is because people aren't willing to stand up to what is right if it's inconvenient for them. They will instead rationalize and look for more proof and stick their heads in the sand.

HN is chock full of these people.

Is Facebook dying? Yes, because lately, everyone has been asking "is Facebook dying?". It's a self-fulfilling prophesy.

However, I also say yes because many people I know have abandoned their accounts or use their accounts reluctantly nowadays.

Identify quickly what your productive hours are and what aren't. For example, I can't seem to hunker down and get sufficiently focused until after lunch. I tried battling it but to no avail.

Now, I do other stuff (laundry, errands, physical work) in the morning and start on the computer at noon. Works much better.

Sleep? For me, some weeks I'll live on 4 hours a night, but then I get super depressed and will jack up the sleep to 6 or more. I need to improve on this, so I'm probably not one to take advice from.

Yeah, but /. was the shiz for a long time. I joined in 1998 and it dominated my online social life for about 5 years.

Not to be a wet blanket, but I recently increased my hourly rate by $50 and I didn't need to read a book. I just decided to bump up my rates. And I did.

If you provide value, and you're good at what you do, why not ask? If it's because you can't handle being told no once in awhile, maybe Rejection Therapy[1] is the best way to go. The game can be applied to all aspects of life, not just getting higher hourly rates.

I'm one of those rare weirdos that actually likes and uses G+. It was my daughter that got me to join but it's a way better experience than FB, and I've been using it everyday since.

Most people want a logo designed for thirty to fifty dollars. Some people want ebooks created from word documents under a for hundred dollars.

I would expect those prices too if I went through TaskRabbit. I wouldn't expect the designer to be a top professional. I'd be looking for a deal.

My advice (and I've been working freelance for about 7 years) is to brand yourself as a top shelf designer and never offer your services on outsourcing websites. Go hyper niche instead in a category where you have some contacts and can get work fast.

If your designs are amazing, word gets around. Pretty much all new business I get is from word of mouth.

I like it. The site has a Hill Street Blues quality to it, but tougher and darker. That's okay. The cops need to look tough because they are tough.

I think the more communication the better. Is it propoganda? Maybe, but I wouldn't work my brain into a lather about that.

Overall, I'd say it's cool. If my town had a site like this I'd read it.
