100% agree. I remember I had an on-call and our pagerduty started going off for a SEV-2 and naturally a lot of managers from teams that are affected are in there sweating bullets because their products/features/metrics are impacted. It can get pretty frustrating having so many people try to be cooks in the kitchen. We had a great manager who literally just moved us to a different call/meeting and he told us "ignore everything those people are saying; just stay focused and I'll handle them." Everyone's respect for our manager really went up from there.
It's actually kinda hilarious how RSC (React Server Components) is pretty much going back to what PHP was but yeah proves your point as hype moves on people begin to realize why certain things were good vs not
It just seems barbaric and insensitive that people can be okay with not attributing someone because they forgot a line to say or do so. At least ask unless the person has something that explicitly says, feel free to copy my work as your own!

It looks like E (events) is simply to illustrate oh yeah some communication is happening between these layers. I think that is pretty obvious?
I'm not necessarily putting down what he was saying, but I don't think this is something revolutionary. I think he just dove deeper and expanded.
Somewhat of a tangent but related, there is an anime called Dr.Stone where a brilliant genius scientist kid gets ported 3700 years in the future and people have reverted back to the stone ages. He teaches them how to build everything from scratch and makes some crazy stuff i.e. antibiotics, etc. Highly recommend
What about intermittently, like hover states? Still no, because a hover state exists to give confirmation that you've mousedowned on a clickable area -- so the hover needs to be an area-wide confirmation (like changing the button color). Animating an icon instead is too confusing, and animating it on top of a color change is too redundant and noisy.
I disagree with this. It can be very effective at signaling users that this is something you want to click. I think some people take animations too far but when used properly, they can be very effective.
I think we should encourage the right kind of animations more than discouraging animating at all. Especially with SVGs, they are more optimized and that's the right way to go about animating something on the web (not a gif that is like 1.5MB).
Only way really is to find someone who didn't firmware update yet and compare them before and after.
I would assume if someone did gap analysis they would factor that in. It isn't about the wholistic are women making more or less than men. Rather it's the equality of are women who are the same role of men making the same. There shouldn't be a difference there.
After reading both of these statements, idk I feel the grey area is large enough that it didn't necessarily justify firing but also I don't blame Google for doing so. Ugh.

Yup agree. That and also understanding why you want A more than B which usually leads to understand why B doesn't give you those same things. At some point there is a balance of how much risk you are willing to put to get what you want.
Honestly I still find a lot of engineers don't know git properly. Like they know enough to commit and push but that's about it. It really helps to understand everything git has to offer.

I, too, am curious about this especially if your repository has started to become a mono-repo. My team has started owning most of the code reviews as more teams get added and contribute to their sections of the code base but it gets pretty hectic. It's not as simple as assigning certain folders as a group because lots of things are intertwined.

Please don't remove the last commit touching a file. I personally love know what parts of the code have been last updated at a glance.
Why? I don’t know. Commits often touch files for completely arbitrary reasons, so the last commit tells you almost nothing. I can’t think of any case when somebody would need that particular information.

The XR and XS offering confused me for a long time. Even right now I still don't fully understand the difference.
It is surprising that XR didn't do as well as XS relatively speaking. Then again I feel a lot of people who are extremely loyal to Apple wouldn't hesitate to get the most expensive offering anyways.
