Haha, definitely agree on this and great idea on exposing a timeframe for different stages, will definitely look into getting this implemented.

It would also be really cool if it showed (instead of a timeframe set by the recruiter) the actual median time for that stage for others, but I'm not sure if recruiters would be comfortable not having "control" of that number.

But even a recruiter/company set timeframe would definitely help the candidate understand and I think would still help keep the recruiters honest.

Cool! This is actually way over my head, but sent it to my wife (who studied linguistics) and she thinks its amazing.

It is getting really frustrating that people took the joke (that really wasn't ever that funny) and took it for truth.

While this article was more about web, it immediately made me think of the game industry. So many people would always tell me they wanted to get into the game industry to be the "idea guy" and come up with games.

What they never seemed to understand is that coming up with ideas is not the hard part. The real hard part is finding time, skills and actually shipping. Hell, take a 20 person game dev company, and they could come up with 100 game ideas before the end of the day, and they will be just as good and original as the idea guys (probably better actually since they have more context and experience)

We (atleast I) became developers because we had ideas and we wanted to make those a reality. I literally have had hundreds of web and game ideas and so has every other developer.

We are in an "idea bubble"... There are far too many people who cannot create, and simply have ideas, and we can already see this starting to erode when you examine how hard it is for "idea founders" to get others to work on their project.

No developer anywhere has said "If I just had an idea of something to do"

Blocks8 is correct about the source. We are looking into both getting more/better sources of photos as well as improving how we select and reveal these images to the user so that we are showing the best and most relevant images

Thanks for the feedback, you called out a bunch of interesting points!

The AJAX loader for cities preloading some results resonates strongly with me and will hopefully be implemented soon as we work on tightening the UX. Facebook(among plenty of others) does this for friend search and it makes a huge difference in the experience of using that search.

That is something that has been on my radar forever and was just waiting for me to find a free weekend to code out the script to set everything up.

I finally found a free minute and got it all setup so it should be live this week
