Yes. Macrumors here says “don’t buy” [0], but only because they tend to recommend only if tech is “new”. I have this ATv gen and it’s not perfect, but is really the best streaming box, having used roku and nvidia shield. PS: get the version with wired ethernet if you can…wifi works, but no surprise that wired is more solid.

In Copenhagen, Denmark, these are used all over the city to, well, deliver cargo.
Then, annually they have a fun cargo-bike race called "Svajerløb" [0]
The event is based on traditional races that took place between the 1930s and 1960s. In the race, riders typically complete four laps - the first lap ridden with an empty cargo bike, then stopping to load up their bikes with cargo before completing three more laps with the full load. [1]
It's super fun.

Seems oxymoronic as Meta doesn’t allow interoperability in order to maintain its walled garden. Apple does the same but it’s generally done in the space of privacy- security and privacy going hand in hand. I have little faith in government, any government, when it comes to technology. Either through ignorance or motive, they usually make decisions that result in less privacy, less security.

Yes. But as another poster mentioned, can your grandmother setup (and also maintain) a windows computer, keeping it free from malware etc.? I posit no.
Can they maintain and keep a Mac (no installation needed) updated and free from malware? Updates sure, but malware free? I posit no.
Now to Linux. My small sample size evidence is that more than 5+ yrs ago, I set up my GPs with Linux Mint, and they use it without any issues. Since they don’t have root, and it’s Linux, the malware footprint is near enough to zero making them as safe as possible from anything bad. It also helps to educate them about not trusting unsolicited emails, etc.—-But, although related, is for a diff discussion.
When I periodically visit them, I check that updates are done.
I’ve had zero complaints from them.
So yes… grandparents can not only use, but love Linux!
I wear a Citizen “AT” [1] wristwatch daily. It not only keeps perfect time, because of its daily sync at 2am to WWVB, but it also never needs a battery change since it self charges from light. These two features make it the perfect zero maintenance timepiece IMHO, and it looks stylish too.

If ever out in the Denver area again, check out The 1UP Arcade[0]. They have all manner of games, including '80s cabs. Very fun.
This method, using a bare git repo, is really an elegant, efficient, and easy way to manage one's dotfiles.
In the end, how you do it is personal pref. I liken it to editor wars, vim vs emacs, etc. What works for me, may not work for you.
PS: these are my dotfiles (link is my repo), and I've used this method for some 5 plus yrs now and it works well for me. I really like how easy it is to spool up a new linux instance and have my config ready to go in mere seconds.
I've not used branches yet, for different OS'en, so my zshrc and bashrc have conditional checks for OS. I will be looking at using branches in the future since it does sound like it would make shell rc files cleaner.

Seems he was going to submit a docket of info collected on congress people which was supposed to nudge actions towards regulating data broker collections and online privacy.

What's needed is EDUCATION...Cases in point.
The only way to "ban" illicit drugs is through education. Essentially, “don’t do that shit and here is why”.
The only way to "ban" abortion is, similarly, through education. Don’t screw but if you do put a coat on that thing. Make that stuff free.
Social media is no different. Focus on teaching the importance of privacy and mental wellbeing.
This education can and should start in your own household and families. Teach your kids, this ban won't help them.

Regardless... based the info in the article, you can bypass this particular monthly cost, and pay upfront. Nothing unusual about charging for options... other than this is an option already built into the car, that you pay extra to enable.

This type of option add is similar to Tesla, who charges $2k (no monthly option) for "performance boost" on their model 3 and Y, and $15k for their FSD (don't get me started on this feature), which has a $200/mo option.

You can do this now by creating a Python virtual environment[0]. Then you can package your project with a requirements file and some instructions on its use. I use Python VENV often, and it works really well.
