i've been using a rather 'rare' two letter tld for my e-mail address since forever. besides the typical autocomplete in forms to suggest to change it to a more common tld, it seems to work quite well for me. People also don't seem to have an issue remembering the tld as it seems to match closely with the common tld used within my country, but distinctive enough to not forget. .party as tld might not be the best idea of course, considering you might want to be taken seriously in your future e-mailing endeavors.

it was shell-scripting (bash). And i'm not sure, but it i think i was mandrake linux distro. It was quite the work to get ISDN working properly, especially to use two lines at a time (one dialing, while the other one was in use).

Got ISDN as a previous job as parttime helpdesk employee at an ISP. Together with the rise of numberous dail-up providers, including the legendary Superweb. It would allow free internet against a fix rate, not paying per minute, which was something new for the Netherlands. It would only allow one or two hours after it would disconnect you and you had to redial. Due their succes getting dialed in again could take quite long (too many users, not enough lines). So I wrote code/script and made changes to the Linux distribution to allow me to dial with my second line as part of my ISDN, starting ten minutes before I would get disconnected, and “transfer” the connection to the new connection when it was finally able to dial-in, hence having internet 24hours a day. Good times! Superweb didn’t exist very long…

The outdoor lan parties that quickly popped up in the Netherlands is where I have my best memories of. Also, modding levels of Shadow Warrior or Quake and then telling your friends that they had to copy this newer version as it had a patch and then pranking them for an hour in game by completely destroying them with hidden passages and explosions… all the while hearing them in disbelief.. and then sharing the secret… also FTP Servers with more music, movies and games you could ever put on your own hard drives..

I think the Q4 earnings report will show massive improvements, furthermore, them moving away from just being a brick-and-mortar store will help valuation in the long run. MOASS is unlikely to happen, but I think in the long term the valuation of GME will keep increasing considering their new plans and their new following/customers. They definitely gained in brand-name in the last year.

This whole saga seems to at least introduce some new rules and regulations. Although enforcing them will be the real game-changer.

I don't necessarily believe in MOASS happening anymore, but I do have a strong believe that introducing an NFT marketplace and what else GME has in store will make sure the long term view for this company is optimistic. Wallstreet might have "won", but it seems that SEC is introducing new bills to prevent some of the stuff that was going on.. Hopefully they will start enforcing it as well.

I have seen so much fuckery with the stock price and ridiculous headlines in het media about GME that can't really believe that we have seen the actual squeeze. Furthermore, the SEC report said that the price run-up was because retail bought in, not because the hedge funds closed their positions. So when did they do this and went from 200% to 20%? Besides all of that, the fundamentals for GME are great. They are hiring great people and seem to be working behind the scenes with some of the biggest companies to, what seems to be, create a NFT marketplace linked to gaming, that will be 'carbon neutral'. all-in-all a good investment on that end I think. time will tell.

I typically combine a TODO list with an overview of my (next) high-level steps in the flow that I had in mind to implement/work on. Also noticed that typically, after a day/night of rest, your thoughts get re-aligned and you might even come up with a better approach for one of the problems you encountered.

Having a hard time to copy/paste a Google translate with the English translation, but basically the article talks about the (too) fast grow of Booking.com and all the related stress and the very old tech they are using and not willing too upgrade (Perl is mentioned). So reconsider when getting an offer from Booking.com to work there.
