It depends. If you've bought your device from Apple, defects will be covered by them in this 2-year period. At least this was my experience in Germany. Two times I encountered a very helpful Genius that issued a repair although my 1-year warranty was up.

I have the same issue(s) on my third set of earpods and second case. It has gotten to a point where I don't want to buy another set of Apple headphones because I'm afraid this will happen again one day or another.

I regret getting my AirPods Pro. I have them for two years now and went through 2 cases and 4 earbuds. The quality just does not match the expectation and price tag. My Sony headphones work like on the first day after 3 years, however they don't share the same form factor. :) I wonder how the WF-1000XM4 perform especially in combination with iOS.

If you don't want to use the cloud KeepassXC on macOS and KeePassium or Strongbox on iOS are probably your best choice. Personally I'm happy with using Bitwarden, which you can self-host.

The cooling on the Air is worse as there's no heatpipe from the processor to the fan. If you care about performance I'd suggest you probably should take a look at the Pro.
