I think Aptera's vision is fantastic. People are quick to judge the looks or three-wheelness of the car, but I think that's just a symptom of cars being marketed as status symbols nowadays.

I am worried about production. With all of the years it's taking them to get there, they can run out of money at any time it seems. It's unknown if they can raise enough money on their terms to get this thing to production.

But original MC ran on JVM, which can run on ARM...

I've been designing chips for 2 years. One of our very well known third-party IP vendors clearly used HLS. I say clearly, because it was almost a 1:1 translation from OO C++ code, variable names, hierarchies, polymorphism, you name it. Absolutely everything about the Verilog was the complete opposite about how a designer organizes their state machines, etc.

Anyways, their IP very clearly violated the standards of a very well known interface, which could have spelled disaster at tape-out. I had to fight tooth-and-nail, and spent lots of my company's time trying to convince this third-party vendor that this was an actual issue. Only months later were they convinced. The revised code kept coming back and failing interface checks, which shows that they weren't doing these checks on their end. All I could think is, "this can't go well..."

I'd like to add to your #5. If Google deems you a legitimate threat, then they can just de-crapify their own search for a bit by going back to their old algo. It's extremely easy for them to fight back.

Serious question, what was the testing like to meet FCC part 15?

I've tried OralB's $120 toothbrush, and their cheapest $30 Pro 300. Functionally, they are almost exactly the same!
