How does users being able to withdraw their money immediately affect your business model? How are you preventing someone from depositing/withdrawing the same $25 a billion times per week?

Wow, I had no idea the terms on these partnerships. Amex spending $4B on Delta miles in 2019 seems crazy. I wonder what sort of discount Amex (and other CC's) get on those miles vs retail buyers.

Also, they report total marketing spend of $2.9B in 2019 - seems like they could still be sitting on quite a few unused miles.

Agreed, I have found that as well. I have tried to define how much momentum I need to stay engaged. For instance, I started a YouTube channel. The process of creating videos was a short enough feedback loop (a few days max to start/finish a video) that I was able to stay engaged for longer than normal. I fed off of each finished video as the momentum to keep working on the project of "growing an audience around a topic I was passionate about".

I have also found that I am able to stay engaged in other applications where I have a shorter feedback loop, to maintain momentum.

Interesting distinction between "dreaming" and "fantasizing". Does the author define the two as the same process with the only difference being the effect the action has on you (e.g. destructive/unsatisfying)?

As someone who frequently starts projects and doesn't finish them, I've wondered if the part I enjoy about the project is the dreaming about what could be. That little rush you get when a new idea is upon you and it's all you can think about for x days. Doing the initial research and formulating a plan.

This is a dopamine rush for me. The feeling of being laser focused for those few days is invigorating. The start of something new, the potential for life changing work.

It usually stops there. Maybe that's what I came for.

Since you're targeting first-time budgeters, have you thought about using any "game theory" to encourage them to learn about the importance of budgeting and keep coming back?

Curious to hear your process when discussing with the Board and how you sourced buyers for your shares. Are you on the board? Were the buyers personal relationships?

I didn’t think Bitcoin transactions were intended to be anonymous and difficult to track, why would Bitcoin use a public ledger if that was the intention? I was under the impression other cryptocurrencies are trying to solve for “anonymous and difficult to track.”

There's a lot I like about SF. Most of all is it's walkability. We don't own a car and I only have to get in a car 2-3 times/month. Once you get used to this type of lifestyle, it's pretty tough to imagine going back to a life that relies on a car/public transit. We walk/bike everywhere we go. If we need a car, Getaround makes that super easy.

We spend 95% of our time within 2 miles of our apartment yet never feel like we are at a loss for interesting things to do/see, though we are pretty easily satisfied (e.g. sitting in parks watching boats sail is an A+ activity).

The above is mainly due to: 1) Weather 2) Density of the city 3) Size of the city's footprint (~49 sq/mi) 4) Diversity (lends itself to the "interesting" part) 5) City's prioritization to public spaces (parks, stairs, are plentiful) 6) Topography also adds to some interest to our primary mode of transit

Ya, definitely not your traditional style of living but it works for us. We really take advantage of the SF weather and public areas to "extend" our living space outside for most of the year.

We're a young family (1.5 Y/o) so probably won't last too long, although I do like the idea of seeing how creative we can get with the space especially if we have another kid.

I installed a “sleeping loft” in our 375SF studio apartment to make a bit more room for my wife and son. 11ft ceilings make a big difference there.

I’ve also been looking into getting a 1bd and installing false walls to make it a 2 bedroom.

Are you concerned at all about becoming dependent on stimulant therapy and the long term effects that may have on your health?

I'm not an expert in Stimulant therapy, only familiar with some relatives "using" Adderall.

This happened to me. I was working 40 hours per week but saying I was working 75 hours per week (without really measuring it). Then I got a second job which made it more important to manage my time effectively (including measuring my time). With the second job, I actually started working 72 hours per week and realized how hard it is to work that much time due to the necessities in life (sleeping, eating/shopping, bathing, commuting, ect) not to mention all the distractions that come up during work when you think you have more then 40 hours to complete all your work.

I recommend anyone try to work that much for a few months, it really puts perspective on how limited our time is and the value of time management.

Are they encrypting incoming mail with recipient keys and throwing away the original?

Yes we do. This mainly protects against service level requests for data in the future.

Can I get similar security properties by periodically downloading my email and deleting it off the server (assuming the deletion is actually happening)?

Yup, assuming you want to deal with that. ProtonMail is designed to give you a privacy focused option for email.

Have you tried the Bridge recently? We've been doing a lot of development there. Last update should fix a bunch of issues.
