Yes. I think the classier version is to name it something else that seems like a normal park name. That way the employees and users can enjoy knowing the inside secret, but it doesn’t look gaudy to the world.

The way they’ve done it is very black mirror vibes.

I think what you might be looking for is urgency. If you're a high energy person, it can feel boring and unmotivating to work in an environment where nothing is needed from you on any non-distant timeframe.

That's my experience, anyway.

Kinda a boring article.

The tldr is there’s some stocks his fund holds that are the result of private VC investments going public. That’s it. I was waiting for some kind of punchline but it didn’t arrive

1) Managing remote employees is harder. Managing in person is easier.

Both are doable, but managing someone remotely requires either the manager and/or the employee to be really good at remote comms.

2) in person spontaneous collaboration

3) my experience is most people get less done remotely. Some do more, but most do less

My take: take 10-20% of it as a learning fund, try and deploy that over the next 3 months, into some combo of #1 and #3, as a quick way to get some initial experience (though note that results won't be clear until 10 years!). Only invest what you'd be willing to lose etc. Then once you've done that you'll be in a good position to figure out what to do next.

I wasn't sure what this was at first, but it's actually a really cool project.

It uses AI to generate images of what cities could look like if they were more pedestrian-friendly. The idea is to show people these images and get them to sign petitions or take other action to get local governments to make these changes.

Is there a good video that shows what the experience is like for the wearer?

I think you might've fixed it, thanks!

For anyone else reading: the issue happened on iOS Safari. I was signed in on the YouTube iOS app, and I was signed in on Google.com on Safari, so I assumed there wasn't anywhere else I needed to be signed in. But sure enough, I went to youtube.com in Safari and wasn't signed in. Tried it once after doing that and it worked. Will see if it solves it, seems likely.

To YouTube employees reading:

I pay for YouTube premium.

So it really sucks when I google the name of a movie, click to play the trailer, and then it plays a pre-roll ad. This only happens with the movie trailers that you one click play from the search results. If I click on something that goes to the youtube domain or youtube app, it's fine.

I'd like no videos when I'm playing videos from google. My google account and youtube premium account are the same, so I'm not sure why it doesn't link.

Much more likely: the upvotes are because many people have frustration at this type of thing, and limited places to channel their frustration, so when they see a post like this, they upvote it to express their frustration. Or maybe that’s just me..
