+1 I came here to write this comment word for word. The speed of IBM-ization of Google is astounding.

I understand your concerns. Our objectives are, on the contrary, to reduce the doctor/patient distance that was created by EHRs and all the required administrative processes. We already measure that when AI takes care of this stuff, doctors do better engage with patients.

Thanks for your comment.

We plan to offer an on-prem option eventually.

In the meantime: - we offer a GDPR compliant EU-based hosting option - we don't store anything (no audio, no transcript, no note): it's stateless and all erased at the end of each consultation - data is pseudonomyzed as it flows though our systems

Our first customers (large healthcare orgs) have been OK with this so far!

We built Wit.ai on Clojure and it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

Most engineers we hired has no prior experience but learned quickly. It gave us a great advantage to hire the best.

I would really use this for many of my projects! For project A, I used Firebase which was great initially but eventually ran into the limitations well described in Stopa's essay. For project B, I decided to write everything from scratch but the amount of work it required is crazy, and of course the result in quite brittle.

We started Wit.ai from Pebble's offices in 2013 in Palo Alto. We didn't know anyone in the Valley, but Eric had read our "Show HN" and kindly offered us to hang out there. We grew to a 6-people team and stayed there for 6 months -- Eric never asked us to pay $1. He helped us a lot and he also pushed us to join YC (W14). We wouldn't have made Wit.ai without him and I'll be thankful forever.

The Web3 Fraud 5 years ago

This article misses the point, it sees web3 decentralization as purely technical and makes performance comparisons with existing systems. The power of web3 decentralization is about control, not more powerful computing. Yes your raspberry pi runs faster than the EVM, but can you give me any guarantee about what code it runs?

Firefox 70 7 years ago

The one thing that prevents me from switching to Firefox is the spell checker. Like many non-native English people, I'm constantly switching between languages when typing. Chrome is smart with that, and detects the right language sentence per sentence. Is there a way to have FF do this? Did I miss something?
