Imagine taking the whole Web, removing spam, duplicates, bad explanations

It will be the free new Wikipedia+ to learn anything in the best way possible, with the best graphs, interactive widgets, etc

What LLMs have for free but humans for some reason don’t

In some places it is possible to use copyrighted materials to educate if not directly for profit

A bit related: AI companies distilled the whole Web into LLMs to make computers smart, why humans can't do the same to make the best possible new Wikipedia with some copyrighted bits to make kids supersmart?

Why kids are worse than AI companies and have to bum around?)

The topic-starter added a comment there:

"So, yep, I really wasn't even using my VPN that much recently - it's the same one I used for months.

And even bigger problem, of course, is - why just looking at my problem where a user with almost 1000 followers and a community that actively chats and spends a lot of time on X (usually, it's good for ad supported platforms).

So why even quite active paid users can't be checked in at least a day (I think it should be minutes but alas), why 5-7 days! ;-)"

It's a lot, but you're right that the more realistic scenario is just running an existing open source model - sadly those are trivial to misalign

So we better have SOTA clouds: people don't update computers for months and as Bredolab shows - their GPUs are up for grabs

Ideally and int. org. will do it but they are slow and countries don't cooperate enough, so a startup is more realistic

Sadly it is almost inevitable we'll have another Bredolab-size botnet (30 mln computers, 1% of all) by cybercriminals but this time it'll be an AI botnet.

As soon as AI components will be useful, they'll be in botnets. And with such a size, you have more compute than OpenAI and can train a frontier misaligned model or modify an open source one:

The solution is to not just have 10% of compute in clouds like we have now but at least 50% in SOTA clouds, to have more compute than botnets. Have AI model App Store, probably NVIDIA will become like Apple:

Will have at least the most minimal checks on what runs on their hardware

We'll have to do it but better to do it early not late

It can be a unicorn startup that NVIDIA will want to buy (motivating gamers to put GPUs in clouds is easy, same with others really, you can share $30-1500/month with them by renting GPUs from your cloud to corporations and others)

There is Salad but they don't secure the hardware and software, so can't really have corporate clients. Amazon AWS, Azure, others, show that it's a real business. Unicorn-sized just in the USA (even bigger if global) if you'll do the math

Yes, it’s great.

The densest UI is a direct democratic simulated multiverse: imagine a long exposure photo as a 3D scene, in which you can walk or fly.

“Point and scroll the mouse wheel” to focus on a particular moment of time, make it crisp, or “scroll back” to see billions of years of time as a hazy long exposure scene.

Example: 14 bln years of our planet look like a hazy ocean (our planet was a water-world most of the time), with the Sun arcs static in the bright sky.

A radical proposal to do what AI companies did but for humans that just may work.

The author has another proposal that he claims can be a trivial to make viral YT horror indie game “Into the AI Brain” that will democratize AI interpretability

The intelligence is just a static geometric shape in an LLM file (only GPUs "choose" and "shape-change" in that shape).

So the maximal intelligence is actually not an agent at all (it has zero agency itself), it's a place. You can imagine the final direct democratic simulated multiverse, that's the final absolute super-intelligence. It has all the agents inside of it, while it itself is as static spacetime. Agents (like us and others) are 3D and dynamic, while the multiverse is 4D static spacetime. Everything already happened, so there is no future, only the past, you can forget something to relive it.

While maximal agency (=shape-changing) is actually the Big Bang, it has almost zero intelligence (it's a dot) but infinite potential future intelligence (can become a multiversal simulation).

There is an idea for the unicorn AI safety startup to get currently almost 100% unprotected (from AI botnet) consumer GPUs into a cloud to get Google-level security (each GPU can bring you $30-1500 in profits per month, you can share it with the user, the user can play GPU game from any device, use any free or paid AI model, everything really becomes better, you can include a 5g modem), here's the full proposal (the author is probably dyslexic) https://melonusk.substack.com/p/notes-on-euto-principles-and...

Interesting, can be relevant: there is an idea for the unicorn AI safety startup to get currently almost 100% unprotected (from AI botnet) consumer GPUs into a cloud to get Google-level security (each GPU can bring you $30-1500 in profits per month, you can share it with the user, the user can play GPU game from any device, use any free or paid AI model, everything really becomes better, you can include a 5g modem), here's the full proposal (the author is probably dyslexic) https://melonusk.substack.com/p/notes-on-euto-principles-and...

With more than 50% probability. Instagram has a clause that they can use your photos for ads and endorsements, basically for profit.

Many sites repost those photos, I doubt Meta will care to meticulously remove them. If the model can generate photo-like content of people - it had photos of people put inside.

I doubt they only trained on public domain photos of people.

If they started doing shady stuff, why would they ever stop?

Yes, their worst fear is people figuring out that an AI chatbot is a strict librarian that spits out quotes but doesn't let you enter the library (the AI model itself). Because with 3D game-like UIs people can enter the library and see all their stolen personal photos (if they were ever online), all kind of monsters. It'll be all over YouTube.

Imagine this but you remove the noise and can walk like in an art gallery (it's a diffusion model but LLMs can be loosely converted into 3D maps with objects, too): https://writings.stephenwolfram.com/2023/07/generative-ai-sp...

The Big Bang is maximally agentic but has zero intelligence (it has maximal future potential intelligence though). Current definitions of agency are way too narrow and unphysical, so:

Agency is time-like, energy-like, choosing, changing shapes or geometry of the world and the agent itself. It’s GPU computations. Explosions have a lot of agency.

Intelligence is space-like, matter-like, the static geometric shape like an LLM (it’s basically a bunch of vectors). It’s a file. The static final 4D spacetime of our universe has a lot of intelligence but zero agency, because it’s static.

Maximal intelligence+agency is the static spacetime of multiverse (=max intelligence) which can change its shape in an instant (=max agency, shape-changing ability).

Same way we have e=mc2, we have agency = intelligence * constant.

There is a planet-wise eternal 100% safe AI solution that can be a billion dollar startup, too:

Put all the GPUs in cloud/s controlled by international scientists (now you can use your GPU on any device, can earn money by renting it when you don’t need it, nothing changes except you need to be online to us it, but we’ll have 5G and better worldwide. You can develop, sell or release free math-proven safe AI models in this cloud “AI App Store”, etc).

Because the main risk is an AI agent botnet - current GPUs are like nukes that are 100% unprotected - any hacker can make a virus with AI agent component just to steal money, this AI will be not aligned at all, will become a per perpetual and eventually autonomous botnet.

Cool that they work in this direction. We need NVIDIA, OS providers to at least have robust updatable blacklists of bad AI models (probably agentic ones) else hackers and rogue states will make a botnet of viruses with agentic components.

We’ll have no time for “AI antiviruses”, agency explosion (grabbing GPUs, compute time, tools) precedes intelligence explosion.

OS providers and NVIDIA must have skin in the game, feel responsible for bad models that run on its GPUs/OSes, fund safety research, same way Apple feels responsible for apps in its App Store and viruses on MacOS

Yep, if a civilization doesn't destroy itself it creates everything it wants. Some don't want simulations, so let it be for them. Some want, they can have it, too. Only you yourself will decide. It's a thought experiment to maximize non-enforcement of things on each other, maximize freedoms. By definition it's highly speculative. But don't die please, if we are in fact in the multiversal simulation, death doesn't lead you there or to some utopia.

It'll just be unfair for death to lead to something good, it's not freedom if before or after death, you'll have this thought: "ha-ha, you just needed to die, stupid!" Nope, you can recall your "multiversal powers" as a quiet thought as baby or at any moment of your life, possibly even live some time as a ghost (if you chose it beforehand), it can be fun to be a ghost for some time for some.

You'll still be alive and will be able to recall and forget as little or as much as you want. Or the whole thing. You don't die, you can stay and you can go at the same time (by basically choosing to make a clone of yourself who is as free as you. Who can pursue multiversal exploration, while you yourself stay and probably choose to forget about your multiversal powers again). It's counterintuitive and hard to explain, basically everything is possible but there are some things that happen more often because they cause less unfreedom.

Potentially it increases a probability of aliens a bit like us existing much earlier. We can be living in some ancestral simulation.

If our world becomes less unfree (that’s the main reason I think there is less than 50% probability we’re in a simulation, the world is too unfree for billions of high intelligent species to choose to live in it, even if it’s their ancestral one) and we start building simulations, it increases that probability, too.

I think the most utopian simulation is all of them in one - direction democratic multiversal simulation. Gives the most freedoms, including freedoms to temporarily forget you have some. To simulate our world for example if you’ll find enough people to join the party that is average or slightly less than average

If there were intelligent aliens billions of years ago who didn't destroy themselves, they probably build some simulations like we in a way already did with Google Earth, GTA, Minecraft, etc. The most likely is to have more and more simulations, until they'll have all the interesting ones (a simulated multiverse). They can even have a Dyson Sphere or Penrose sphere to capture the energy from a star or black hole
