Great advice for time management, works well for IT positions.
I get your point, as I was writing it I thought "this shouldn't be too technical otherwise I end up writing a tutorial" but had to be technical enough to give some context and practical examples... But yeah, I should have gone deeper explaining the Shadow DOM part.
If you don't mind spending money, phpstorm is the way to go. It's faster than netbeans and has a big company behind with custom support.

Hey, NodeJS with MongoDB are a combokill combination.
You can start some side projects in other language like Python or Ruby, do some coding, work on freelance gigs, and earn some experience. That way you will have something to use in a future interview.
They like that comand line look and feel.
1. Run 2 times a week and swim 1. 2. Going out with the wife, even if its just a simple walk. 3. Do side projects. 4. Cook, everyday, it's something that i like and relaxes me at the end of the day.

First you need a mac to go native, and my 2cents follow that native path. Going native you have access to all functionalities, push notifications, accelerometer, gyroscope, and build nice apps using those tools. You wrote "I don't really understand how people can team up with perfect strangers they can't vet;" and that is a very strong reason why i want to team up with him. Because since we are starting something from ground 0, building connections, working like maniacs etc, i think i would like to rely on someone that i know for years, that i can trust and expect to behave in certain situations like i would.
That said, i think that will be very important for us to make something like a vow stating that we both are open to choose "bailout" as long the other part knows it in advance. Always communicate our beliefs and disagreements. And more important always act in the best interess of the startup.
