In the words of the ancients, one should make his decisions within the space of seven breaths. If discrimination is long, it will spoil.
I think the point they are making is there are plenty of jobs around for sys admin, but GP is not looking in the right places.
Author is afraid they conmitted fraud according to Indian laws
Nah I better err on the side of caution with this - plenty of examples in history where life’s were utterly destroyed even though every sensible person was ok their side - snowden is just one extreme example but there are many others.
Any discords you recommend?
Did you have receipts or any other way to prove that you/the business you owned purchased the phone?
She wrote a strongly worded tweet and people outraged for 0.03 ms and moved on to the next thing.
I’ll take YouTube and Steam over the olden days of game „journalism“ any day.
You can restrict issue creation/comments etc to certain users if you don’t want to open it to the public. You can also use a separate repo: https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managin...
It’s a choice the maintainer has to make.
To me this is mostly self inflicted pain…
You assume the scammers want everyone to fall for this trick.
The reality is different - they leave these huge red flags so that people who aren’t very bright or careful will fall for it.
That is the same reason why scammers put spelling mistakes in emails - not because they don’t know how to use spellcheck, but because they want to filter out those who would spot these mistakes.
They want to scam careless, gullible, „stupid“ people, not someone who is careful enough to spot security red flags.
I think he means the former - OBS is maybe not „professional“ but in my experience it has excellent quality and can match most professional solutions
I think if you read LinkedIn posts you get what you deserve
While I don’t agree with GP, this is a weak argument

Simple doesn’t mean it’s easy or without risk
What I don’t understand is why people tolerate this. Of course companies will do this and worse if people let them.
Who is still finetuning Dreambooth in 2024? I thought they had been entirely replaced by Loras…
Employees have a legal right to work from home
Sorry but that’s a fantasy. I live in Germany and that is 100% not the case here. You might be able to negotiate it if you are an especially valuable employee but normally no chance
The natural way of things is to die at 30 of dysentery- I’m glad we are past that

I listened to a lot of current AI „podcasting“ tools and wh ok me the voice is 95% perfect it does have its issues: - suddenly speeding up or slowing down - mispronunciation of non-standard words - weird pauses
Like any generalisation this is unhelpful in the real world. You don’t need to be particularly smart for 95% of programming tasks AFAICT
I mean this is what they recommend:
- Your current cloud / PaaS costs are north of $5,000/month - You have at least two developers who are into the idea of running Kubernetes and their own infrastructure and are willing to spend some time learning how to do so
So you will spend 150k+/year (2 senior full stake eng salaries in EU - can be much higher, esp for people up to the task) to save 60k+/y in infra costs?
Does not compute for me - is the lock-in that bad?
I understand it for very small/simple use cases - but then do you need k8s at all?
It feels like the ones who will benefit the most is orgs who spend much more on cloud costs - but they need SLAs, compliance and a dozen other enterprisy things.
So I struggle to understand who would benefit from this stack reclaim.
I just tell it to follow a concise style and Federal Plain Language Guidelines. Works great mostly but sometimes it misses some important details
Let the machine do the work, sit back, and relax You have to remember 0 passwords and can still have a unique one for every account
work on a shared cloud pc
That sounds insane, is that actually happening in practice? What is the point?
For my personal use I found it trivial to activate my Win10 Professional. I just had to change the server address for the license check and boom fully activated. Not gonna share the specifics here but you can find it easily.
I guess the method described here does „more“ since it’s much more elaborate. Not super familiar with the different levels of win licences
If you can’t love yourself how are you going to love someone else?
Do most AI startups produce something of sustainable, lasting value ?
I was thinking exactly that - shouldn’t capitalism regulate this kind of thing on it’s own or something
