What’s the whataboutism re: Kent State? My point is the average Chinese citizen cares about Tiananmen about as much as the average American cares about Kent State, which is to say not at all.

I guess we can continue to be fascinated by it and Chinese citizens can continue to look at us weird when we speak about it like it’s the secret to immortality or something.

Hacker News Guidelines

What to Submit On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity.

Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. Videos of pratfalls or disasters, or cute animal pictures. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.

Does anyone have an opinion on LangChain versus Deepset Haystack?

Haystack seems more polished for NLP tasks, but LangChain looks more extensible long term?

Thanks!

I think he's criticizing Issacson's book for being light on the details of Jobs' actual work, thus allowing Gladwell to write an article that is uninformed in calling Jobs a tweaker.

Had Issacson done the task justice, we would all have insight into Jobs' work, which in Gruber's opinion, rises far above the level of a tweaker.

There was an oncologist speculating on Quora that Jobs had to have the Whipple because he waited so long and the cancer presumably spread. Had he acted promptly it would have been a much less complicated surgery.

To each his own though -- whatever drove Jobs to seek alternative medicine first is part and parcel of the personality that gave us all he did.
