The alternative is non-profit SAAS. It will operate like a company and continously improving based on user feedback. But the goal of the company is not to maximize sharehoder profit but to bring delights to both users and employees with minimal cost to users while taking care of the employees.

As someone who is not a designer, i tend to pick a framework (eg react) that has many good looking design libraries so that i don't need to style each component. I understand that the demo & examples are meant to show the power and functionalities of this good functional langauge. But the examples are unstyled, plain looking, ugly and seem like will take a lot of work to look good. Since i am not a designer, i just want to plug and play a good looking UI library and focus on business logic. hope i am making sense here.

You were a faang engineer. $3500 should too small to be relevant in your considerations. Your time is much more valuable so instead of thinking about money cost, you should think about time cost. Is building for AR/VR within your competent zone? Do you love building for AR/VR in the long run? These are more important questions.

With so many books/courses/AI available online, you can learn for your entire life without needing to go to school for it as long as you have curiosity and movitivation. If your goal is to learn and get educated, you don't need college. College is mostly for getting a job and socialize with your peers(which is more important than most people think).

i saw Tiktok sued a state government too. It is something amazing that only happens in countries like America. In most of other countries, including China, sueing govementment by citizens or private companies is unthinkable and will be faced with severe consequences and in some cases , deaths.
