I wish my 1-bedroom in Noe Valley was this efficient. One room could have everything useful stacked on top of each other, and the living room could just include badassery.

Nice. I like the Cue one the best, because I think the evocative toast image and simple CTA come together nicely.

This gives me hope. Since I submitted early and have made a lot of improvements since, I'm crossing my fingers that they'll either check out the app in its current state or we'll get another chance.

That's what I did--voted for it, because it was packaged together with "human trafficking", the main advertised piece.

I'm somewhat regretting voting for it now, after more careful research. The only "deal breaker" for me, at this point, is that this law (I think) doesn't take into account the difference in acts that constitute "sex offense"--i.e., peeing on the side of the highway and raping someone both fall under the same category here.

So that poor dude that got taking a drunk leak might have to expose his screen names.

"Regulate the light in your life" and "Alcohol is lying to you" are really true for me. If I read a book instead of Reddit, I can fall asleep in 30 minutes. And wine always wakes me up with the 2am hangover.

And a little Benadryl always helps.

It's currently tailored for large university club meetings, but can also be used in professional organizations and ad hoc meetings of any kind.

We want to eventually automate as many pesky "meeting processes" as possible, but we started with replacing the sign-in sheet and taking meeting votes. We built out a mass-name-badge-printing function too, but it's under construction.

We're not 100% sure how to market it yet--it's in "private beta" (we feel comfortable sharing it on HN for constructive criticism). Natebleker (the engineer) thinks he's going to cold-call universities and sell them app subscriptions, since they currently pay people to do this (student organization archive jobs).

This is true. I was trying to think of a commercial that highlights product design and features and this popped into my head. I had forgotten about their Mac vs. PC ads.

For real. This girl is obviously being honest and sounds really level-headed/normal. Everything in this article is exactly what I would tell my little sister.

"When running a startup or business, the goal is to create a better user experience and help advance technology.".

This. I love Apple commercials because they describe the good parts of their products, infomercial-style.

Pretty consistently, shitty products have shitty ads that try to slam their competitors and try to associate their brand with some sort of cheesy emotional stock footage, 1970's-bullshit-advertising-firm-style.

YES. This is why working with my brother is awesome. We know exactly which work to pass off to each other. There's never any "I could have done that better" competition or awkwardness.

When I applied, I didn't even think about the fact that I'm female. This article has me super-excited.

I'm surprised it's so low. My guess is that:

1) As geebee said, groups of coding girlfriends are rare (I'm the only one of my girlfriends who's into tech stuff)

2) Women don't like peacocking as much as men, so they suppress a lot of great ideas

3) If women have babies in their twenties, that becomes their first priority

Otherwise, I'm psyched to be a female applicant at this moment of opportunity.

In my experience, a lot of boys have acted that way towards me because they've honestly never met a woman who can code. It takes a little bit before they warm up to that fact.

After a while, if they're still being a dick, I'll just go somewhere else and find people to work with that aren't egocentric and dumb.

That's one of the reasons why working with my brother is so awesome--he knows me well and doesn't assume I'm a "non-computer-person".

GIRLS DO THIS TOO. Some girls also assume that girls are less technically inclined.

My whole life, I've just had to keep on going and showing people what I'm capable of. Since I'm a white girl who likes wearing dresses, people don't expect it, but they find out soon enough.
