Looks really good, will try it.
What is your revenue split, tip vs non tips? I've always wondered if putting a tip button on a free app could generate significant income.

I am still using my ancient Pioneer plasma and dreading the day it dies.
Any recommendations for a ≈42 inch dumb screen replacement for when that day arrives?
and there is Copilot for Edge which no one uses.
It can also summarize pages, scale recipes etc.
There's a bridge with TWO 90-degree turns in Athens, Greece. I've always thought it was an odd design: https://maps.app.goo.gl/j4hzcGKH8b2XdFbJ8
He’s saying that the spreadsheet represents the “picture” of the cat in terms of pixels and RGB values etc.
The algorithm/workers are not really “looking” at a picture of a cat, they are analysing and looking for patterns in the data that defines the picture of the cat.
What did you use to write the installer, and how do you determine if the targeted version of Excel is 32 or 64 bit?
I've built an Excel-DNA based Add-in (https://www.excelpricefeed.com/) and distribute it via an installer built using Advanced Installer. It works well, the only real pain point is the the user has to find out which version of Excel they have installed in order to choose the correct download (32 or 64 bit).
Do you know if this item from the Microsoft 365 roadmap would stop Add-ins (xll files) like this from working?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filter...
I also have a vested interest as one of my software products is an xll Add-in. Any further details from Microsoft would be most welcome, thanks.
Looks great, will give it a try (as a fellow Excel developer).
One small point: on your webpage the "Try QueryStorm out" button on the "Start a free trial" panel just points to: https://querystorm.com/csharp-in-excel/ rather than the generate key page.
I had to check the date of the article to make sure it wasn't April 1.
$1 billion valuation and $25m in funding for a database and 30 prototype orbs (aka cameras which can scan an eyeball).
The world has gone mad.
-We have applied to list our Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol “COIN.”
This in itself will probably add a few billion in market cap...
How does this square with Tesla's "green" mission?
Bitcoin consumes annually the electricity output of a small country. Surely if they were serious about tackling environmental issues they would not be investing in Bitcoin?
This news itself has pushed the price up over 15% today and no doubt enables another warehouse full of machines to start working 24/7 to mine more bitcoin...
Here is the key paragraph from todays 10k. It also mentions gold related assets. (https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1318605/000156459021...):
"In January 2021, we updated our investment policy to provide us with more flexibility to further diversify and maximize returns on our cash that is not required to maintain adequate operating liquidity. As part of the policy, which was duly approved by the Audit Committee of our Board of Directors, we may invest a portion of such cash in certain alternative reserve assets including digital assets, gold bullion, gold exchange-traded funds and other assets as specified in the future. Thereafter, we invested an aggregate $1.50 billion in bitcoin under this policy and may acquire and hold digital assets from time to time or long-term. Moreover, we expect to begin accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for our products in the near future, subject to applicable laws and initially on a limited basis, which we may or may not liquidate upon receipt."
I thought I would write up an explanation of what is currently going on with GameStop, in what could be a defining moment for the world of finance.
I hope some of you find it interesting and informative!
Thanks for the reply.
I have a product in the trading/investing space. What is your plan to get your product in front of potential customers? I find this the hardest part of building/launching a product.
Whilst stock trading enables you to bet on the price/performance of a company, forex trading enables you to bet on the price/performance of a country/currency.
You bet, however, not on a single currency but on a currency pair so you are really betting on how one currency will perform against another currency.
Looks interesting although there is no indication of who runs the website, who built it etc.
I always look for an "About Us" page before signing up for anything like this.
This is not aimed at solving your problem, this is aimed at helping us small developers build a more sustainable business on the App Store.
We will ultimately build more apps and invest more time in supporting and improving our current apps.
Me too, although currently the lowest resolution of reports from Apple via the API is daily sales, no way to get last 24 hours at the moment (which I would be most interested in).
The other big disadvantage is the failure mode: if the screen fails, a whole set of functionality becomes inaccessible
Yep, the touch screen in my car cracked recently and the AC got stuck on a very low setting and was constantly blowing out cold air - there was no way to adjust it without using the screen.
It is not only the single point of failure that is annoying but the fact that to control the AC you need to use the touch screen in AC mode which mean switching from GPS mode or radio mode etc. Very distracting when driving.
Car designers: Please give us more knobs!
Developer here: I’ve built an Excel Add-In which feeds live financial data to cells via simple formulas. It currently sources data from Yahoo Finance and IG Index, I am working on other data providers.
For example to populate a cell with the latest Apple stock price: =EPF.Yahoo.Price(“AAPL”)
For brokers, such as IG Index you can download historical data for analysis, submit trades and stream real-time prices to cells.
I have some users using it to automatically keep track of the value of their portfolio across different brokers and I'm also helping one guy working on an automated trading system in Excel.
Here's a tutorial on using it to build a realtime investment portfolio. https://www.excelpricefeed.com/tutorials/excel-realtime-stoc...
You can try it free for 10 days at https://www.excelpricefeed.com
Would love to get some feedback!
Interesting...is the app exactly the same on both platforms and the same price (assuming it is paid)?
I am interested to see if it's worth porting some of my iOS apps to Android.
Looks like you need to specify number of shares AND a cost.
If you just set a number of shares it is ignored, there should be a warning.
Looks good though, really needs a refresh button on the portfolio screen to update with latest prices.
It is better if you can charge on a 'per project basis' but only if you have spent time up front working on an accurate estimate and, more importantly, built in significant contingency into your price.
Often though this up front time working on an estimate can end up being for free, an opportunity cost really, if you don't win the project.
I like “Artificial Artificial Intelligence”.
I think you need to work on SEO, I just Googled "facebook page to website" and your site did not appear in the first few result pages. I'm afraid the top hit was PageVamp which seems to provide exactly the same service, is cheaper and provides more features.
Edit to add: Maybe adding some side-by-side examples would help? i.e. where you can see the Facebook page along side the synchronized website.
Looks good. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to build you web application (at https://terminal.quantra.io/)?
I wrote this post to keep track of all the AI/ML content that came out of the Build conference last week. Hope somebody else finds it useful!
Interesting to see the price action (and reaction) during the first few moments of trading.
From the S-1, looks like they will be excluded from the S&P500:
In addition, in July 2017, FTSE Russell and Standard & Poor’s announced that they would cease to allow most newly public companies utilizing dual or multi-class capital structures to be included in their indices. Affected indices include the Russell 2000 and the S&P 500, S&P MidCap 400, and S&P SmallCap 600, which together make up the S&P Composite 1500. Under the announced policies, our multi-class capital structure would make us ineligible for inclusion in any of these indices, and as a result, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, and other investment vehicles that attempt to passively track these indices will not be investing in our stock. These policies are very new and it is as of yet unclear what effect, if any, they will have on the valuations of publicly traded companies excluded from the indices, but it is possible that they may depress these valuations compared to those of other similar companies that are included.
