In what way is copyright preventing it today?

There's nothing that prevents people from remixing things that are not copyrighted and create something amazing that others are interested in or of cultural value.

With open source, I should note, its remixing is in fact governed by copyright.

Nuance is “resources” has the connotation of exploitation whereas “talent” is positive. The former is used to also refer to non-human things like iron ore, but I am not aware that “talent” is ever used to refer to anything other than people.

Also, I’m not trying to change people to stop using the word “resources”, even if I am not a fan.

That’s a weird thing to be upset and reprimand us about.

I suppose one can insist that people say “most talented people” but it seems so much more streamlined and to say “top talent”. I have never come across anyone who is bothered by this.

FWIW I am way more bothered by the use of the word “resources” to refer to people. I think it is disgusting and offensive.

That doesn’t make sense. You cannot copyright an idea, only the specific expression of the idea.

It is logical that there are people who are great at what they do and others who are not. We’ve all worked with both and if you are in the business of finding talented people, how else would you talk about it?

If autopilot/FSD, not only is yours a false description, even if it weren’t it would not have bearing on the overall conclusion about whether or not SpaceX is run well.

When I think about how well or poorly an organization is run, some of the signals I look at are:

a) ability to attract and retain talent

b) ability to grow the company

c) creativity and speed of execution

On these three fronts it seems like SpaceX is run pretty well, at least above average.

The information I have:

a) The government took a nearly $9 billion stake in Intel to support its chip-making efforts.

b) The Pentagon took a $400 million equity stake in MP Materials, a rare-earth miner.

c) Sam Altman has advocated that the US government take equity stakes in AI companies. Sen Bernie Sanders wants the US government to take 50% stake in AI companies! Nothing has come of it though.

d) Defense department AI contract value rose to $90.7B in 2026.

So I'm super curious where you pulled that $1.4T number from.

Saying that AI will drive the future GDP is a very different thing from saying an economy relies on the stock price of a few AI companies.

Isn't most of the economy riding on the stock of these handful of companies though?
