I understand that but a customer shouldn't be force to buy hardware from the vendor, or be charged a fine for not doing so. Either work the cost of the hardware into the price of the service, or offer a way to have the service with limited support if the customer wants to take care of it themselves.

Verizon should be able to know if their service works all the way to THEIR box, after that it's my responsibility if I choose not to pay for the additional service.

yeah, looking into filing an informal PUC complaint now. I did later in the conversation mention that I was going to be exploring other internet options. Of course that didn't make a difference in the conversation.

I'm sure there ARE parsers and old terminals that may not understand tabs, but I don't plan to make decisions about how I write code based on the possibility of maybe, someday running into SOMETHING that doesn't like what I'm doing. Especially when switching my entire code base from tabs to spaces is as simple as a global find/replace.

yeah, I would wonder why your continuation line has to line up perfectly with the previous one. When you start laying your code out so that everything is perfectly aligned to everything else, it just leads to headaches and heartbreaks when other developers don't share your passion for perfectly manicured code. :-)

I totally agree, there are a lot of ways to get a game to TV these days (and many more coming). The difference here is that we would be talking HTML5 games. And the controls could take advantage of your phone's touchscreen and sensors.

Also, if the Chromecast succeeds in gaining major market penetration, that would be another big reason to find more ways (like games) to repurpose it.
