I prefer eBay for two reasons: (1) Selling. eBay gives me cash (minus fee). Buttons only have value if there's a dress I want. (2) Buying. Lots more inventory to choose from, both high end and low.
Maybe there's something to the seasonality (school vacations, geographic moves tend to cluster in the summer) and the channels affecting holidays. But days of the week? Come on . . .
A strain of academic literature suggests that single-sex higher education may be problematic in that it accentuates separateness. Separateness can build confidence, but in my experience it's local confidence, pertaining only to the controlled environment that produced it. Otherwise, separateness is simply different, contributing to a sense of being an outsider. And I think that this is a bad thing.
Segregation is an unsustainable way to deal with the problem. The answer is women in tech, in larger numbers and with greater influence.

I agree. Peddling the illusion that a woman can remain 21 -- or should even want to -- is depressing.
I don't imagine that crowd-sourcing would work well -- body types vary wildly withing a given size. A size 6 isn't a size 6 isn't a size 6 . . .
Women tend to know their size within a given brand. As long as they stick to those, they'll be fine.
