I met a cruise ship worker from Bali who started staying in the USA illegally because it pays more than the cruise ship. He works in some restaurant and will just keep doing it until he is caught or he wants to get married. Then he will return to his home country. In the mean time he is sending money back home for his family and sister's education.

Poor people buying lottery tickets live in the daydream where they have won the lottery and are spending their millions.
If the majority of the state wants Sharia law, that will still not happen. India is a country of 1.3 billion with at least 10 different languages. There are so many sub cultures in India that the people of India do not think a few Kashmiri separatists deserve independence. It will never happen.
The state is called Jammu and Kashmir and it is part of India's cultural heritage. Integration efforts may take time, but the alternatives are not an option for India. There are many pockets of Muslim majority around India, Kashmir will be no different. Despite the border with Pakistan.
Hinduism is/was the culture of the Indian subcontinent. Western society defined religion as a matter of faith. In India faith was not exactly part of your culture. That was in addition to your culture.
Hinduism is secular. Where have historically persecuted people of the world gone? To Hindu India. Indian Hindus are why Zorastrian people still exists as a religion. They had to flee Iran and Islamic domination hundreds of years ago.
Hindu India has its share of casteism, which is a real problem. That I can agree with.
I think its pretty clear you pulled that out of your fertile imagination.
This is BS. Pakistani jihadis are not overcome with any kind words. The isolation of Kashmir was the problem and the government has taken the solution that the majority of the country agrees with.
The only people complaining are English language media who Modi has never cared about.
Hindu Chauvinist party. Really? There are dozens of countries with Islamic constitutions. Do we call all their leaders Islamic nationalists? There is a serious effort to malign democratic norms in India unless it is only for Islam, which was the state of affairs for J&K. Hindus in Jammu and Ladakh which were part of the state of J&K were second class citizens. That has been removed. Property rights of females is also restored unlike the Kashmiri Sharia influenced constitution.
Kashmiri separatism is another in the line of Islamic jihadi separatism. It was co-opted by the Pakistanis because they only consider that Muslims can live ruled by Mullahs and Sharia and an Islamic constitution.
You will probably find 75% people in India or more in agreement with Modi's action. The whip of the largest opposition party quit his party because he agreed with BJP's actions. Remember that the resolutions passed parliament with 66% of votesin the Rajya Sabha and 84% in the Lok Sabha. That is greater than the numbers of the BJP so many other parties joined them in this.
India's 1.3 billion people will have no problem fighting another war with Pakistan if again attacked over Kashmir.
The international media might as well get used to it.
Yup a small chunk of off the book income which goes straight to cash is worth 10% to them
"It won't scale" means they would have to hire sales people to go after businesses.
My mother was in labor for over 36 hours (maybe more, she told me but I forgot) in 1976. You know that would be a C-section nowadays. She had two more children after that. I don't know how long her labor was for those but I assume it wasn't as bad.
A lease is a depreciation financing program. It only makes sense if you want to change your car every 3 years.
I think if they called it a Deprecation Financing Program they wouldn't get so many customers.
Yeah the target audience will ask if it runs WhatsApp and maybe Facebook Messenger and that's about it.
Exactly what Sam Stephenson talked about here: https://youtu.be/SWEts0rlezA?t=6m36s
Absolutely. There are so few places where you actually need an SPA. And now with form_with doing remote forms by default and getting inline responses from the server it is a real stretch for someone to say they absolutely need some of these JS frameworks to get some simple non page load functionality.
So can you change an electric outlet? That means turning off the individual circuit (or mains if you are paranoid) then opening, disconnecting, connecting a new one.
What about installing a ceiling fan? Assuming the wiring is already there.
Blockchain on git as a service
You can use a property manager, they will take 10% of gross rent. If the margins aren't good enough to support that, then the property isn't a good buy.
Untracked files are not stashed, that is true.
An insurance companies funds will be subject to government regulation to make sure they can fulfill obligations.
It is the same as the Ripple network and XRP. XRP or lumens are the native currency of the network. Every other asset traded is an IOU.
You can represent any asset or balance as an IOU. Your bank account is USD/Bank-of-america for example.
So the idea behind Stellar and Ripple is that you can represent and trade IOU's. But the intermediate without an IOU is the native currency of the network.
This is now shifting the goalposts. Before it was PoW is necessary to secure the network. Now it is we don't need PoW but it is artisanal.
There are still more consensus algorithms that PoS and PoW.
Do you see people printing banknotes out of feathers or some other randomly expensive material? No, and similarly mining bitcoin is some randomly expensive process. The process of securing a "coin" can be done very cheaply with minimal computing cost and the world will shift to that.
PoW will go away. Noone will entrust their wealth to miners. There are plenty of other ways to achieve consensus and coins are moving away from PoW.
But we are still not done with the Bitcoin bubble.
Yes many tokens are being used as shares and trying to circumvent securities law.
Agree with you on Ripple's potential but I wouldn't read too much into that slide. Those companies were on the slide as an example use case. I don't think it meant any official buy in.
Bitcoin has succeeded in creating a scarce resource backed by computing power. That's about all.
We visited Bali and they have some beautiful paintings there. There are so many artists there. With a little training they could produce some outstanding original art but instead they are painting a lot of similar tourist friendly crap. It probably needs some capitalist with vision to make a real artistic hub.
Such beautiful places are where tourists want to go and they can naturally pick up some artwork while they are there. Instead they get the same touristy crap.
I agree with you and there are opportunities afforded to almost everyone. I think a few small tweaks are necessary, not these large wholescale proposals.
One tweak is having a robust estate/death tax. That will create a more level playing field. People will complain about double taxation because their whole lives they are building a fortune for their children, but passing tens of millions of dollars to your grandchildren is not something we need to protect.
