This is the first time I see moderation adding to the title instead of subtracting or replacing it. But in the way it is titled now, they made it look like I meant to submit the latest post and haven't put the permalink by mistake.

I am surprised by the community reaction on the philosophy essay. It's not undeserved, I just couldn't expect him getting that much critic around here.

That is a problem only because Github uses the root domain for its own pages. They could rather use www.github.com.

To solve your case on NoScript, whitelist the full address https://github.com/ and that will keep http subdomains out.

How did you get your site unbanned from HN?

Math notation should be terse because you have to do symbolic manipulation on the expressions. It's easy to argue for longer variable names when you are just using the ready-made results. I think it's acceptable to use long names for programming.

I noticed today that my submitted stories page shows upvote arrows for my older submissions (as if I hadn't upvoted/submitted them). Only the 20 first ones have the red asterisk. And my saved stories page does not show old stories.

So it's not just me. Just to make sure, you know that link only works for yourself, each user can only see his own saved stories page.

Why? They're not that large, just click the original title instead. I would understand if you asked for a Google Cache replacement, though (I use a bookmarklet for that).

My answer to GP looks silly now. I see what he meant. The submission title should change to vote-counter button to avoid the confusion.

WTF? What kind of university imposes that you take only one course at any given time? It's not just linkbait, it starts from a wrong assumption. When you take many related courses simultaneously, you see the pieces meshing together and that helps learning. That's different from taking them in a serial manner.

Even if the official position was against using downmods to show disagreement, it'd not be enforceable. As soon as a large enough group starts using the "disagree" button, almost everyone would follow the trend.

The recent wave of password and hash theft might become an incentive to move to this login method. I was skeptic about the possibility of BrowserID catching on, thinking the Google/Twitter/FB wouldn't give up tracking users with their ID methods. But if there is a way to make this widespread (though I can't imagine how) I'd really like it to happen.

Will Mozilla provide native support or an extension? Or they feel like it would hurt if someone could implement a bad login page that still works if the browser has native support?
